The one from Cary probably didnt want to take a step down in his career. And the guy from Ohio probably read all the Yankee bashing and thought otherwise. Maybe everyone should settle their difference, read the first sentence of the Bill of Rights and see that We the People control the government. It's not We the People Divided!
If you don't want "People Divided", get us some honest people in our town government. Get rid of Crone, get rid of Erskine, and then maybe there'll be peace.
Not being a total pessimist, who in the hell would want to come into this hornet's nest. Hopefully, our Officials will shoot straight from the hip and tell an applicant how screwd up TOM is, and give him or her(doubt that very much) the reigns to straighten out this Town.
Sounds like he has probably played Cary to get a raise while making the Fab 6 in Mooresville think they could really get him to down size to come to this place.
If that's the case, then good riddance. We need somebody with some serious cajunas and even more integrity come in and do a major cleanup.

We cannot place the blame on anybody from the outside who may shy away from our town. We have not been willing or able to "clean up our own house", waiting for an outsider to come and do it. Perhaps we should clean up our house first and then an outsider may be more likely to want to come here and truly lead. As it is with all things, the solutions and the power usually lies inside of us rather than outside of us.
Cary guy has lots of credentials. (1) Intelligence - he's going to walk away from $190K/year to come into this mess (2) Is it just me or does he look a little bit like Frank Rader? You Frank have a brother that needs work?
But seriously, if the Town Bored (sic) is talking to a guy currently making $190 / year, we can only assume that they are prepared to double the pay for the Manager's position. But you know what. . .it's still a lot less than the Town paid Jimmy McKnight for doing practically nothing. Maybe the Bored hasn't figured out that $190,000 /year is more than $109,000 / year. Frank! Frank! Get in here and help us with these 'big numbers'.
Frank Rader is too busy launching a one-man defense for the police chief. I got his propaganda dribble a couple of days ago after a little "dry spell" of his. Guess he was waiting for the Falzone letters he had asked for. Who cares if the letters were in violation of the very policies he has sworn to uphold? For people like Frank, policies are there to tie the hands of those in your way, and release the hands of those working with you.
I get Rader's (mis)information mailing, too. I noticed that he included the bogus letters of support for Crone, but nothing about how Crone took cash from the evidence room and put it into Cops 4 Kids, nothing about the missing cash, nothing about the fancy trips for Crone, and his wife, and his kid, and his loyalists, and their wives. Nope, not a word. Frank, you’re off your game, buddy. You’re tipping your hand, and the only one you're foolin' is yourself.

Why can you people not see what's really happening here...The Cary guy never was in the running for the job, it's all make believe. They are planning on making it sound like all the preferred candidates dropped out and then they'll give it to Erskine Smith and it will look like they had no other choice.
Fat chance. Erskine Smith is toast. Crone learned the hard way that he should have ducked out gracefully before he got forced out. Time will tell if Smith is a quick learner or a slow one.
