Interim Town Engineer Tonia Wimberly resigns

The Report has learned that Tonia Wimberly -- the Town of Mooresville's Interim Engineering Supervisor since former Town Manager Jamie Justice fired Richard McMillan in February 2006 -- has resigned.

Wimberly apparently turned in her resignation shortly after the town offered the position of Town Engineer to a Florida man.

(For more information on Wimberly, see "More on Wasterwatergate: The Poisoned Project," April 8, or click here: http://thegattonreport.blogspot.com/2008/04/more-on-wastewatergate-poisoned-project.html)

More details will be posted as they become available ...

Tonia Wimberly made her bed when she started lying and covering up for the Mooresville Wastewatergate involving the shady CH2M Hill company. Let this be a lesson to anybody else in the town's employ who is thinking about compromising their values. You will be used and then thrown away by elected officials who have nothing to lose besides getting voted out of office.

I am curious if the new town engineer had a "history lesson" with someone like Jamie Justice had with Joe Knox? (I still think that was one of the most improper situations I've ever heard of for Town Manager candidates.) I know if he interviewed with Erskine Smith he probably left out of there wondering how a man with so many "tics" became town manager.(Wink and Nod ya know)All the same, if Mr. Smith hired him, he plays golf and will tow the line, but history shows us that there is no loyalty in town goverment and you are expendable--advice to the new guy, save your money, because you may not have a job tomorrow. Hey Ms. Wimberly, got anything you want to tell the "new" district attorney, she might be willing to cut a deal depending on who you give up!

TONIA AND HER ASSISTANT WERE AT THE HELM OF THE SERRILL ST. PROJECT. IN MY OPINION, TONIA IS DUMMER THAN A ROCK, AND CANNOT ENGINEER HER WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG. THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER PERSON IN THAT OFFICE THAT SHOULDN'T LET THE DOOR SLAM HER IN THE REAR AS SHE FOLLOWS HER OUT. WE HAVE A VERY VERY WEAK ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AND IT APPEARS THAT KEEPING UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE THERE IS JOB SECURITY. I ONLY HOPE SHE DOESN'T APPEAR IN SOME OTHER TOWNS' ENGINEERING DEPT.
THE TIME IS QUICKLY APPROACHING FOR THE POWERS TO BE TO HIRE SMART QUALIFIED PEOPLE. THERE ARE TWO NEW PEOPLE IN THAT OFFICE THAT ARE SUPERB. I ONLY HOPE, "THE BOSS" DOESN'T STIFFLE THEM, AND LET'S THEM GROW. THE OLD MANAGEMENT STYLE OF THE PAST IS OVER, AND IF HE KEEPS NON QUALIFIED PEOPLE ABOARD, IT WILL BE HIS DEMISE.

That was Sherrill St. Sorry

My question is: Did the town pay for that "Florida Man's" travel expenses, meals and hotel lodging during his interview with the Town of Mooresville? Could he cough up his receipts whereas CH2M Hill was not held accountable for theirs? Just a hard working taxpayer wondering out loud.

The new person is from Florida????Jamie, didn’t you write one time about some CH2Mill design facility or something being in Florida?Isn’t that where all the people from CH2Mhill flew to and shacked up in condos and billed us for it?Isn’t that where they bought all those groceries???Florida?Of all 50states in the U.S. Major coincidence or should we all be very spooked right about now?

Give the new person a break. You few are trying to destroy the person before they ever get here. Give them a chance to prove them selves. Maybe where you came from there were dishonest people. How would you feel if people said things about you before you met them. They might be your future neighbor. They might go to your place of worship. Again get a life give them a chance.

One would have to wonder why the Town would have to go to Florida to find an engineer? (had not thought about a CH2M connection) Are there no engineers in NC qualified to work for Mooresville? Maybe none that are willing to fore-go ethics and take an engineering job in Mooresville! The Poison Project claims another victim...

Wimberly towed the Town line hooked to Justice - Justice sank. She sold out taxpayers for the price of lobster ravioli meal with CH2M Hill, lied to Board members about the increased CH2M Hill fees, and more. Well, looks like she was sold out now by Erskine Smith - heard she was not even considered for the engineering manager job. Good luck and good-bye.

Nothing bad about the new guy, but I hope he did his homework about the town before agreeing to come to Mooresville, or else he's in for a shock!

Here's that golf thing with Erskine again.. what's up with that.

Hopefully the new guy is a plant by the FBI and he is setting up alot of folks demise, so CLEAN government can take hold in Mooresville. I think someone should let him know that The Board of Engineers and Surveyors is very familiar with Mooresville and loves to conduct interviews like Frank Rader loves committee meetings, so watch out new guy. Ms. Wimberly, just a thought for the interview process, get rid of "the mullet," it only looks good on Joe Dirt or Billy Ray Cyrus!

I'm sure the new person will be nice enough. But if Erskine Smith had anything, anything at all to do with hiring this new person, I will be suspicious of him. Sorry. Anything that touches Smith is suspect.

I second that sentiment.

If Tonia Wimberly was the INTERIM town engineer and did not get offered the job, then maybe the same will happen with our INTERIM town manager! Maybe there is a brighter future for Mooresville.

The "Blimpy" McMillan and the "Check book challenged" Martin spent their tax payer working hours blasting town officials, to anybody who would listen. Interesting how "Jump at a free lunch" McMillan and "Gimmie a freebie" Martin must move from town to town for employment. McMillan works behind the scenes to damage the new sewer plant process, the town, and the engineering department he was fired from. He contacts employees and the media, even posting some of these blogs. His fem clone, Tonia Wimberly carried on the conspiracy tradition. She was finally out conspired.

No body can give a straight answer to plans for a new sewer plant. It appears Mooresville is inept at controlling it's own destiny. CH2 M Hill and Mooresville have fumbled the ball. So the state is looking to remove control from Mooresville, with the local municipalities having a regionalized sewer system. Imagine paying sewer rates to towns you don't have any representation. Imagine building a 25 million gallon water treatment plant to match a 5 million gallon sewer plant. Unfortunatley, this ole boy will have to wait a little longer to sell the farm.

The good ole boy network ruled the decision making process, because Richard the "Blow Hard" and Wilce "Money" could not gain the confidence of the commissioners. So David "Houdini" Wagner, Mooresville boy, CH2M Hill man, worked his magic on the commissioners.

Then, McMillan and Martin, the tax payer's saviors, sued the town. Sued the tax payers they were fighting for!

Wilce Martin is a good and fair person who willingly helped this tax paying citizen and her family years ago when the town failed us. Because he was fired from the town of Mooresville, our home was destroyed this year. Wilce Martin had the best interests and welfare of the tax paying citizens of Mooresville at heart. Wilce Martin was proactive for Mooresville - not reactive - a fine trait for progessive townships. Don't blast those that were fired for doing the right thing. They have the right to post comments on this blog as does every other citizen. But ya know, this particular blog isn't even about Martin and McMillan, it's about the voluntary resignation of Tonia Wimberly.
