- I was a newspaper reporter in Mooresville, NC for a decade and covered local government issues from 2003 to 2006. I continued freelancing for a portion of 2007. Here are some of my accomplishments from 2004 to 2006: 3rd Place, Investigative Reporting, 2004, from the N.C. Press Association (NCPA) for series of articles titled, "Library director firing controversy." 3rd Place, Community Service Award (the highest honor the NCPA bestows on a community newspaper), 2004, for series on the Mooresville librarian firing controversy. 3rd Place, Investigative Reporting, from the NCPA in 2005 for series on Mooresville's wastewater treatment plant expansion titled "Something stinks in Mooresville." 3rd Place, Community Service Award, from the NCPA in 2005 for "Something stinks in Mooresville” series. June 2005, "Best News Story" MegAward for outstanding journalism at Media General newspapers for "Wastewater costs: Town outspending most." 1st Place, Community Service, from NCPA in 2006, for series titled "Morrison Plantation: A Deadly Intersection." For the love of God, someone has ended up in the hospital, probably because of the stress that they have been under and you people act like dirty mouthed little kids and keep picking on her. How many of you have WWJD bracelets on too? Make sure you go to church this Sunday and sing real loud about loving your neighbors. Remind me to get out of the way the next time lightening comes around.
Why don't you all grow up and leave them alone? Wonder how you would like it?
Is there something about this county that they can't seem to hire someone without a criminal record? I see on the 6;00 news on channel 9 that the tourism office in Statesville hired some guy from Maryland that stole $15000 from up there. And here is another question. Why in the world do they have to go to another damn state to hire a crook? Tourists are gonna be beating down the door to see this crap alright.
Who wants to visit Statesville?
Umm, every job application I've ever filled out has a question about have you ever been convicted of a crime. This guy served time for a felony.
So the lesson here is, criminal record, want a job in Iredell County? No problem. Unless the press finds out. You can't tell me that someone didn't know.
All the people out of work around here, they couldn't find a single, solitary person with a clean record to run this place? Someone who knows about Statesville maybe?

I was at work Thursday evening so was unable to attend but am very interested in hearing all of what was said. Is this available on a local access? can someone post a link please? Thanks. I intended to go but was scheduled to work at the last minute. I'm a new voter.
Some of it can be streamed from the Mooresville Tribune site. It may all be on there now, Saturday they had about half of it up.
Thank you very much. I will look for it as soon as I get some down time. I voted in my first election in November and try to be as informed as I can. Will there be other forums or is this the only one?

There will be a second forum on Oct. 18th, 7-9pm at the Mack Center. Candidates for Ward 1, Ward 2, Mayor, and the "winners" of the At-large primary on Oct.11, should be attending.

Only 162 weeks until the next sheriff's election but who's counting? 1134 days. Yahoo. Redmond goes. Bet more people turn out and vote on November 4, 2014. I have it marked on my calendar. I won't miss that election. And I'm not voting for anyone who backs his horse. Anyone. Got that? Won't be buying any more cars at Randy Marion either.
Speaking of Dealer Marion, I think everyone who is passing him by ought to call or drop him a card and tell him why. You don't have to give your name. Enough people tell these clowns why they aren't spending their money there maybe we might get rid of the crooks running the show in this county. Come to think of it, maybe I will just drop a card, postage due. He can afford it.

We need to find the candidates who are going to make sweeping changes and elect them. This means throwing out everyone who has allowed the same old crap to go on continue. Incumbents should go. Cops for kids, Mi-Connection, all of this is a big embarassment and it's cost us money. I don't think any of us are happy with the water system. Whether, directly or not, we are paying for this and the level and quality of services we receive for our tax dollare are impacted. Seems to me that they are wasting a lot of time playing games. What about the time they spent tossing garbage back on those lady's lawn? Is this the dignified and efficient way for them to act?
I went down Tomlin Mill Rd today. You know those signs that show the posted speed and then your speed? There was one supplied by Phillip H. Redmond almost in Porky Dowdle's front yard. I guess Porky wants people to s-s-s-s-s-s-, uh, s-s-s-s, uh beduh bb--ss-slow uh bu DOWN!
Guess Phillip H. Redmond doesn't want Kyle Busch ending up with his toy in Porky's living room. Might scratch up Porky's plastic tv tables. Or whatever they got stashed from the evidence room
The only time I ever see any of those old boys, they're usually just standing around jawing and scratching their butts. Pretty chubby, most of 'em are too. Yeehaw, time for doughnuts.

Hi,I just found this site because I googled Kyle Busch. We are fans but I'm kind of shocked at reading the comments. My family moved down here from Indiana a few years ago. You know, in my old hometown, folks kind of rally around someone who has cancer. This doesn't seem too nice to me. Do you think that somebody might be under a lot of stress as it is? It seems to me that this is kind of a shame. There are 2 sides to every story, maybe more. Looks to me like somebody has some real pain going on and you aren't helping. I hope the lady with cancer is doing ok. Is there a way we could help out? Maybe mow their lawn or wash their car? Pull weeds? I might be able to find some time to help with my kids.
Thank you, 2:29, they have help with their lawn, but I think they probably could use some other help. I believe they were on the list for help today from church groups but have not seen anyone there today.
There has been considerable pain. You are correct about that. Miss Carol's friend, according to the guy who mows the lawn was in the hospital 2 weeks ago for being suicidal. I am quite sure she would not want that out here but enough is enough. As I understand it from him, she is not well at all.

Look, Mr. Hateful, when several calls are made and they are told that they will be getting a group out to help and no one shows, well, that is a little disappointing when folks are on their backs and no one is cutting them a break. I guess cancer isn't enough. No one said a church is picking on them. Did you go to church yourself after shouting, Phillip?
No one is probably looking at this post anymore but what happened in Vegas yesterday, God rest that poor man's soul, is exactly why Kyle Busch should have had the book thrown at him. That could have happened on Perth Rd.
