Griffith will not resign and will remain on November ballot

This just in from The Rick Baker Show's Facebook status:

Commissioner Will Not Resign, Will Finish Out Term

"After much thought, deliberation and with the support of my family I have decided to complete my term on the board of commissioners. I will remain on the ticken in November and allow the voters who placed me in office to decide if I remain in office. Removing my name from the ballet would take the control of the decision from the citizens of this county and place it in the hands of a select few.

"It would be much easier to walk away but the right thing to do is to face the voters. A leader doesn’t take the easiest path. A leader faces their critics. A leader admits when they are wrong and takes steps to correct it. It will be a challenge to restore public confidence but I will work hard to do so.

"I will stand for the people who elected me and not turn and hid even if it means I stand alone.”

I want to gag at this response. This reminds me of the Gov. Of Illinois who was so arrogant and pompass. Look where he is now. In Renee's situation, decisions regarding criminal and civil consewuences are yet to be reviewed and determined. Confident there wont be a free pass there. In that arena, apologies are not enough.

The right thing to do? Really?

Let me see, the right thing to do is not to forge documents and then blame it on innocent people.

The right thing to do is not lie about what you did to cover your actions.

The right thing to do is not try to get sympathy from your supporters by confessing your sins "AFTER" you are caught.

Pay attention everyone this is conservative hypocrisy at its finest, and it is harming the whole county.

You Griffith supporters can maginalize this by calling it a "mistake" all you want, but it was a premeditated, conscious effort to do something illegal, then lie about it.

And before I get called a liberal, you should know I am one of the biggest conservatives in Iredell County. As a tax payer, I just prefer my leaders not commit criminal acts and lie about them.

This is no big surprise. Our elected officials are all jokes. No ethics or morals. Let's look at the big picture. Statesville City Councilman Flake Huggins won an election that he got caught helping commit VOTER fraud. Found guilty of this by the Board of Elections and then got caught telling lies to the Sheriffs Office. He want step down and his fellow CROOKS on the council want do a Damn thing to remove him. They are just as dirty as he is. Why should she step down. This is how politicians conduct busy. And we the people are to lazy to a Damn thing about it but sit back and talk. Talk is cheap. Let's put pressure on the county and city to remove Renee Griffin and Flake Huggins.

The typos that exist in the statement posted here do not exist at the facebook page referenced here. Who botched the spellings? Jaime? Rick? Renee?

D. Bradley said...

I agree with Mr. Sherill. We as the citizens of this county need to take a stand and say enough is enough. We are tired of this crap. If you lie, than you will steal. If your ability to lead is in question, than your no good to the people that you are suppose to lead. This goes for Renee Griffin and this Flake Huggins. I don't know much about this Huggins matter. But if he has been found guilty of wrong doing by the Board of Elections, than why the HELL is he still a Councilman. This goes to the very heart of why we can't trust our elected officials to do the right thing. They are to busy taking care of them selves. Both should be asked and if they refuse to leave than we need to force them out. And to those elected leaders who are protecting them, than they need to go as well. So do we just talk about this behind closed doors or do we the PEOPLE act upon this. When do the county and city meet again. And who all is willing to go and voice their concerns.

Hey, Renee,

You run a school? Really? Remove my name from the ballet? Kirov or Bolshoi? Turn and hid? Grammar much? Lord, a fifth grader would do a better job.

I'm not surprised. What you did was the action of a sniveling coward. You are refusing to face the music. If Barak Obama did something like this, or Harry Reid, you and your Tea Party pals would be screaming for their heads. The tar and feathers would be flying. And God help Perdue or Foxx if the same thing came out of their mouths. You didn't do what Perdue did. She has the sense to see she was finished and she took the high road. She is getting out.

Let's review, shall we? You deliberately, with malice aforethought (love that expression) falsified a record. You thought about it. You may have hesitated but you did it anyway. Then you slandered someone who had worked for you and probably trusted you and may have considered you a friend. You didn't give a rat's rear end about that person. All you cared about was covering yours.

I'll bet the bookeepers at the King of Price who do the same thing get their butts canned. Hell, I bet the minimum wage hacks who have to write stuff up at an office catch it if they falsify something. What makes you better than them or any of the rest of us? What puts you on a par with Redmond and Jenkins and the rest of those corrupt swine up in the dirty hallowed halls of the county seat.

You're arrogant and let's face it. You were never going to resign. You never thought about it for two minutes because doing the right thing takes courage and a person who lies and forges and blames everyone else and like the rest of her colleagues on the commission, just doesn't give a damn about us, the citizens, is gutless.

Face it, Renee, you were never going to do what was right for the county and us. It's all about you and we can just keep being humiliated by you and your fellow travelers. Give Redmond our regards, will you? Because you're just like him now. And you're no better. Shame on you.

Renee Griffith will be reelected, not on her own merits, but by the blind swallowing of GOP Kool Aid.

I can see her in November brushing it all aside as the people will have spoken. She will say she defeated a liberal smear campaign against her and the support for her was strong proven by her being reelected.

The truth is that the majority of votes in Iredell County come from mindless GOP voters that simply vote strait ticket. (Look at the election board statistics on straight ticket GOP voting in Iredell County.)
The mindless majority would vote for Satan himself if he merely called himself a Republican and filed for election.

I have voted for Republicans but it is rare for me to vote straight ticket. But most GOP voters in Iredell, and elsewhere, have swallowed the Kool-Aid that causes strait ticket GOP voting no matter what. Therefore we get kooky folks like Renee as our elected leaders. Why would Renee resign when she knows the Kool-Aid political game so well?

(There is Democrat Kool Aid too. It is not the drink of choice in Iredell County, but I will recognize it too exists.)

Seems to me like the commission should have a process to expel members who violate trust. How can someone purport to be a leader who sets the example of a criminal and a liar?

If Ms Griffith wants to "do the right thing" she would admit that her leadership is compromised and would have quickly resigned in the best interest of the community.

You cannot cheat the system then say you are a leader.

Iredell Voters still hold the fate of elected officials in their hands, regardless of where you stand on Renee Griffith and her actions. We have the power to vote them in or out of office and nothing speaks louder than the ballot box! This applies to ALL Iredell candidates and as citizens we MUST be informed voters. Ask yourself - What do our elected leaders represent? No one is perfect but character traits like "Personal Integrity" and "Accountability" should be foremost in our minds; as should upholding the Constitutional values of our state and nation. Make changes you see fit by casting your vote in November. Encourage others to do the same, remind them it's their privilege to vote and that countless patriots have died to protect that right. *Remember that voter apathy allows misconduct and corruption to thrive. Stop it now by taking action.

"What does it profith a man {woman} to gain the whole world and lose his {her} soul." Indeed. Griffith's choice to remain on the November ballot says three things to me. The first is that she is ambitious, very ambitious. She would rather take her chances and risk humiliation than lose her "big fish in a little pond" status. Second, she thinks the Republican voters in Iredell are idiots and that as long as she has "R" by her name, she's in. Third, that she meant nothing by all the hand wringing and asking for forgiveness. Her behavior was all for show. One does not need a college degree in order to see through her plan. It is sad that once again someone would use the name of our precious Lord as a shield for her sins, not as a way to confess and repent. You see, Ms. Griffith, that's the key, repent. Step down and be the good example you claim you were. If not, I firmly suggest that the Christian school (if it is such) fire you. They can forgive you, but that doesn't mean they have to be stupid in keeping you on. In closing, I add an old proverb: a wolf is still a wolf even if it doesn't eat your sheep.

I agree that Renee Griffith is arrogant. She is also selfish. It's become clear to me that she and others like Ken Robertson, think we are stupid. He sits with his charts and graphs and tells us he is going to educate us, like we are too ignorant to know what is going on around us.

Smear campaign? Renee did it to her self. She is the one who covered herself in mud.

I'm a woman. I'm waiting for the next volley in this little affair. She's going to cry sexism or that she's being picked on because she's a woman. Go ahead, Renee, play the gender card, make it even worse than you have and set things back a few decades for women in this county. You're doing enough damage as it is.

Anonymous said...

The "Christian School" she runs won't fire her. Why? Because her father Grover Crosswhite is the pastor at Cornerstone of Victory Church, the institution that runs Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Someone should do some digging on Old Susan Renee Crosswhite Griffith.

The woman must be a complete slug.

The saddest part of this whole mess is that she will probably be reelected. The citizens of Iredell county are too stupid to remove her from office. As long as she has a R next to her name on the ballot she is in.

Let's hope the state revokes the license for her school. Where will she" get a pay" then?

Can't wait to see you in your pink tutu at the ballet Renee. Get those toe shoes laced up.

Personally, I think Renee ought to step down. I think this issue will linger and be a distraction. We always learn from adversity. I have learned that Frank Mitchell lacks grace. To deride Mrs. Griffith at a low point like this is truly classless. Ken Robertson also weighed in. Robertson should resign for his voting on the county budget after his girlfriend helped create it and got a raise as a result of it. If that is not a conflict of interest, there is no such thing.

Another question that needs to be asked is does she plan to step down as the leader of our local tea party? She clearly does not hold to the same values of this oragnization, and has tarnished its name.

Anonymous said...

OMG!!!! She has the audacity to say, "A leader doesn’t take the easiest path. A leader faces their critics. A leader admits when they are wrong and takes steps to correct it". What is her definition of a leader? She makes me want to vomit on her rhetoric and irresponsibility. She obviously has significant problems mentally by putting herself up on such a pedestal and not realizing how foolish she really looks like. As for those soothsayers who have been saying, "he who is without sin, cast the first stone", well to that I say that I have never lied on an official state document, failed to pay my mortgage, accepted campaign contributions and not reported them on the required forms and created lies to cover my mistakes. She cannot be a Christian per the definition because she does not learn from her mistakes and takes actions not to repreat them or make bigger mistakes. Stop hiding Renee and admit you are not a leader nor a reasonable human being.

How are those tea party values working for you Renee?

I got just one question. Who does the citizens of Statesville turn to report political ethics violations. In Mooresville and in the County the Gatton report does a great job reporting about our politicians who are wrong. So the question is. In Statesville, Councilman Flake Huggins lied and cheated to win an election..The DA's office has gotten a True Bill of indictment for Aiding VOTER fraud and Felony Obstruction of Justice.

Everyone has made mistakes in their lives. The truth is, if we all looked objectively at our mistakes.... . most of us would be in trouble with the law. Ask your self this question. Have you ever stole a candy bar at a grocery store, or lied about something you knew you were going to get away with at your job? I am not a conservative, but more of a left wing person in the political spectrum. I believe in fairness to everyone, to the best of my ability. Renee will eventually have to pay the consequences for what she has done, and... we will also answer for our mistakes as well. Jesus said to the Pharisees...Which one of you that is without sin cast the first stone....
