Will Griffith resign?

Commissioner Griffith has done wrong. She has admitted to it and we can forgive her. Personally I think she should step down. I think this will remain a distraction and will impede her ability to govern. I also have learned from this unfortunate event that Frank Mitchell lacks grace and class. He has taken this opportunity to bash Mrs. Griffith. Mr. Mitchell is using this to get vengeance for political and philosophical differences with her. Ken Robertson should have resigned after he neglected to recuse himself from voting on a budget that his girlfriend had helped put together that included a raise for her.

Politically Renee needs to step down. I don't believe she confessed to her poor judgement because of her conscience, but rather because she was smart enough to see it as a way out of an unavoidable situation. On a personal level, we have all done wrong and she deserves a pass to move on.

I am aggravated by the many people who viewed her decision as okay in comparison to what some of our other elected officials are doing. If we are going to do a comparison, then she could have falsified 300 documents and still have been in the clear.

However, after listening to the Rick Baker show today and hearing the various callers, I have decided that Renee should stay on the ballet so the citizens of Iredell County can decide. There is no overwhelming majority in her support or calling for her resignation. Opinion is split enough that it should be left up to a vote, the results of which I will be good with either way.

Not in any defense of Renee, but a well deserved shot at the R&L; the R&L has no business demanding Renee's resignation after all the documentation that has been handed to them regarding Sheriff Redmond and I.S.S. I don't see how they can overlook criminal activity and broken state and Federal laws on some while slamming another person relentlessly.

Why does she need until this evening to decide. If she used her common sense, she'd have resigned when this first came to light.

Renee committed fraud by falsifying county inspection records which were sent to a state agency. When things began to unravel she then attempted to cover her tracks furthering her deceptive behavior. She admitted to it and apologized, but the consequences of her actions are far from over. She needs to resign without question. How arrogant and delusional for her to think that she should be handling the publics business on the commission. Any political figure that tries to provide her cover and give her a pass should likewise resign. The republican party has no values or backbone if it does likewise push for her resignation. You cannot preach one thing about values and morals and do another thing. I am republican and this is a disgrace.

If this was someone working at a bank or a hospital, they would be fired and likely facing charges, no question. I personally am sick of this let's forgive because she said she was sorry. If I knock over a liquor store then say I'm sorry does that make it ok? Let's just say this was a case where the building was a firetrap and she was taken at her word. Google the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire, y'all. Then we'll talk about forgiveness. That may be a drastic example but who's to say? This woman runs a Christian School and violated everything she preached. She then went on a radio show where the guy is running all off (and rightfully so) with righteous indignation) about an adult molesting a 15 year old. Well, that man confessed in church. Shouldn't he be forgiven by that standard?

Sorry Renee, I've lost what little respect I had left for you. Rick, I am losing some respect for you but at least you are trying in other areas.
