Suspended deputy will reimburse county for phone use

Sheriff Phil Redmond allowed an indicted deputy to continue using his county cell phone even after he was suspended because the sheriff didn't anticipate the suspension would last long, according to Iredell County Commissioners.

The deputy, Tommy Adams, was suspended after a state grand jury indicted him in December 2010 for obstruction of justice.

"(Chief Deputy) Rick Dowdle has responded that when Adams was suspended he did not think the suspension would be for an extended period," Commissioner Steve Johnson said in an e-mail to the Report late last week. "Obviously that was not the case."

Commissioner Ken Robertson said it appears to him that the county-funded phone "was basically forgotten."

Meanwhile, over the course of four months, Adams spent thousands of minutes on the cell phone, including calls to his defense attorney and the sheriff's home.

One week after the Report exposed the suspended deputy's continued use of the phone, Iredell commissioners said the county finance department would seek reimbursement – $269.55 – from Adams.

Adams' original charges were much higher - $220.80 in February alone – but the costs were adjusted apparently because he was on the sheriff's shared-minutes plan.

In fact, Adams' charges, even while suspended, were consistently higher than any other deputy with a cell phone, according to the monthly bills.

Robertson said for the most part, the county is not responsible for the sheriff's office. "The sheriff's department operates as a stand alone department, and the sheriff is not under the direct control of the county manager, so there is a very real and significant degree of separation, although we provide their funding," he said.

"When other elected official(s) are responsible for these departments, the financial accountability and responsibility is through them first," he said. "As a commissioner, I try to allow other office holders the opportunity to fulfill their duties without my routine interference. Anytime commissioners probe into the inner workings of the schools or the sheriff's departments, we walk a fine line between seeking proper accountability, interfering in the operation of departments, and assuming the legal responsibility of other officials who were elected by the voters to actually do the job.

"In the Army," Robertson said, "we would say that it is wise to 'stay in your lane'."

However, he said, "The question of whether it was proper for a suspended employee to continue to have use of a cell phone seems rather apparent, but like with many law enforcement situations, there may have been other factors pertaining to the issue about which I am unaware.

"In this case the cost of the phone service will likely be recovered, and I understand that is being pursued without direct county commissioner intervention," Robertson said.

Commissioner Frank Mitchell said the county will not, on the other hand, try to recuperate what it paid for a newspaper reporter's cell phone over the course of several years. "It appears the sheriff's department willingly let the reporter have use of a phone for emergency management reasons and will not be trying to recoup (the) cost for its use," he said.

Commissioners Marvin Norman and Renee Griffith did not respond to Report questions.

well, redmond will probably pay the fee adams owes and find someway to be remburised through the county as usual

I see it everyday said...

"(Chief Deputy) Rick Dowdle has responded that when Adams was suspended he did not think the suspension would be for an extended period," Commissioner Steve Johnson said in an e-mail to the Report late last week. "Obviously that was not the case."

I think that is an acceptable excuse. Grand jury indictments usually go away overnight you know.

Next: Commissioner Ken Robertson said it appears to him that the county-funded phone "was basically forgotten."

Basically forgotten? Adams was calling the Sheriff on it. I'm sure he looks at the incoming number before he answers. He knew damn well that he had it. Tommy for sure didn't forget that he had it. He willingly kept it and used it for personal use knowing that he shouldn't have it.

Next: However, he (Robertson) said, "The question of whether it was proper for a suspended employee to continue to have use of a cell phone seems rather apparent, but like with many law enforcement situations, there may have been other factors pertaining to the issue about which I am unaware.

What factors? Tommy is suspended without pay, he isn't doing any work for the county unless he is doing it for free which would violate federal workers policy. What other factors are there? County phone, county use. Tommy is just another Iredell County citizen at the moment.

What we can see by this: I assume that all the county commissioners were sent this email. Looks like only three replied and they were defending Redmond, Adams and Swicegood. So we now have more answers about who is in cahoots with Redmond. The other commissioners apparently didn't have anything nice to say so they didn't say anything at all.

The R&L is always printing Redmond said stories. why in the f-ck doesn't Redmond have anything to say when something negative happens? Because of his involvement and the lack of balls that every decent Sheriff should have.

Love this: Adams' original charges were much higher - $220.80 in February alone – but the costs were adjusted apparently because he was on the sheriff's shared-minutes plan.

Good to know that they share minutes, why not?

Nobody in this county is responsible for anyone else. Redmond has another deputy who is running roughshod over the HOA where she is on the BOD. Robertson insults the disabled and the county and town of Mooresville ignore the Americans With Disabilities Act. I could go on and on but back to the county. It would appear the entire county is made up of stand alone agencies. Who does the county manager answer to? Who do the commissioners answer to? When a sheriff's deputy sends someone onto a person's private property in her capacity as a HOA officer to take photo's of shrubbery and look in windows, isn't that against the law? Just asking? That deputy drives around in her sheriff mobile and trots around in her uniform and gun making little visits as a HOA officer just to intimidate. Inappropriate. Say, when does the sheriff run for reelection?

9:31.....I like to follow these stories. Can you please tell me what "HOA" is. I know I will feel stupid when you tell me. I am assuming BOD is Board of Dirctors.... Thanks in advance.

HOA Home Owners Association. Curious about that story. Which deputy?

Andrea Taylor. He assures me he is "investigating" but so far I have not heard a word, except to get slapped with criminal charges when I pushed back. It's called retaliation. One of his deputies did this when I tried to get him to communicate with me. Chris Royal is holding my service dog. This county and the town of Mooresville have not responded to complaints I have filed under the Americans With Disabilities Act and the HOA tells us that the BOD is going to remain the same because no one wanted to run. Funny, I was at that meeting and this never came up. I don't recall when I moved here being told that I was moving out of the USA. Illegal search and seizure, false charges, disregard of the ADA and a HOA management company that operates out of a UPS store in Huntersville and assesses fines without due process or notification. Oh, yes, did I mention the pond and park that the HOA is letting rot, the latter for YEARS and the former for months? Both are health and safety hazards. Furthermore, 5 figures were spent on said pond less than a year ago and stumps were ground up after dark on a school night when the HOA had healthy trees on their land cut down and replaced. I do not care one way or the other about these workers, though others do, but the immigration status of these guys did appear questionable, which might explain the late night stump grinding. That's a clear safety issue, no matter where they came from and the HOA watered their new plants and power washed their fence with our water and never offered a dime to us. All we are missing is the guard towers and razor wire. I still have not forgotten the hurt and pain caused by a HOA person saying to my face, not once, but twice, as the homeowner lay fighting for her life last summer in ICU, in Winston-Salem where she went by ambulance in an emergency, "I don't know why an old woman buys a house she can't keep up." She was healthy when she bought this house and has successfully fought cancer, so far for over 3 years, no thanks to the stress put upon her by the HOA. She's seen me through 2 surgeries and a current round of some pretty brutal testing and symptoms. We're doing ok, no thanks to them.

And I forgot to mention that Ken Robertson made a very slurring remark about my disability which is exactly what a lot of soldiers are now coming back from war with--TBI. Mine came from a car hitting me after running a light. I wonder if he'd said the same thing he said to me to a war vet, how long he would be in office. He has yet to apologize. To me, it's the same as someone making a racial slur. He hung up on me when I called him on it. I spent my entire career as a public employee. I would have never so much as thought that. I grew up with a grandmother who was active in civil rights and I mean people lived in her house in Detroit as they passed through. I learned as a little kid. And this guy is an elected official and the sheriff is elected to protect everyone? I feel so safe in my bed at night. We started locking the door after these people started coming around. It's just sad.

Do politicians accept ZERO responsibility these days? Absurd! We need to clean house from top to bottom! The County Commissioners hold the reigns of the County Budget which the Sheriff's Office depends on. Hey Mr. Commissioners, it's as simple as this......"CLEAN UP YOUR ACT, MR. SHERIFF. CLEAN UP YOUR BUDGET, MR. SHERIFF. AND IF YOU DON'T, HERE'S THE AMOUNT WE WILL WITHHOLD." Money talks, Mr. Commissioner. Of course you already knew that.

Anyone can friend me on my FB page. I would actually like to make some friends here. I have been down here for almost 3 years and don't know a lot of people. I'm from Michigan but I do like it down here and I apprecitate the history, crafts, and folklore. And who do the county commissioners answer to?

Anonymous said...

I hate to keep rambling on but I'm so angry and upset about what we have been put through. The idea of a HOA harassing a 70 year old woman with cancer (not me, the homeowner, my friend) and threatening her with making her homeless is so offensive to me I could just scream. I met Carol when I was doing transports for the national rescue she ran. This was absolutely top drawer, no nonsense. I am from the thumb of MI, specifically, 14 miles south of the James Nichols farm, where Terry Nichols and Tim McVeigh probably hatched the Oklahoma City bombing plot. I drove by that farm everyday on the way to work and when James Nichols was arrested for being suspected for being involved in the plot (I was retired on disability by then) his neighbors did not judge but were true neighbors and went out and put in his crops. Our neighbors, or rather, the HOA, have harassed us. The people next to us have left us alone. We have not asked for or needed help. My point is, what happened to the concept of being neighborly? And I thought that people wanted government out of our lives? We have this pseudo government and no one doing anything about real health and safety hazards they are ignoring.

Marian... the Sheriff isn't going to clean up his act, he doesn't want to clean up his act and he couldn't if he wanted to. There has been too much for too long and too deep.

Traumatic brain injury. Not curable but managable. I live with it. I have had it since 1989. I have bizarre gaps in my memory. My recall of the accident is odd. I know that I was hit on the passenger side by a car running the light. That is fact. However I will swear up and down that I was hit by the tanker truck going southbound as I was heading northbound and I actually have no real memory of the accident. That came to me in a dream months later. I remember seeing the tanker truck before the accident. I have gaps from college for example, which was years before, who knows why? I had one of the best neuros in the world at the time. So I was fortunate. At any rate, I got a letter today from the attorney for animal control stating that the animals were all in such bad health. Yeah, right. Their vet has been treating them. Funny, some are seniors so yes, they have challenges. We got a grant and donations for Journey to have surgery last year and I'm very concerned for her. Chris Royal told a neighbor that the cats were all eminently adoptable so what is it? My dog has only been to the vet to be given shots, spayed and boarded when I had neck surgery. She is the healthiest collie that I've ever had. She had a grooming appointment the following week. How do I know they aren't being made sick since we can't see them which I'm told is illegal? They had Advantage put on the week before. I bet they have fleas now. I also had a call from Gov. Perdue's Charlotte office and he could not get the HOA management office on the phone. I am SHOCKED! I gave them until today to get us info. We didn't get that either. However he did get the county manager on the phone and he gave me the distinct impression that if I let him know that the house had been "cleaned up" (it wasn't all that dirty to begin with) he might be amenable to a little give and take. What do you all think? I don't like this but I do want my pets back. I feel like I'm being asked to apologize to my rapists. I was literally sick to my stomach after I got that letter. I'm also playing a little face book game with people who have set up a page for a woman up in the metro Detroit area who was catching hell from the city of Oak Park for planting veggies in her front yard after it was torn up for a sewer line. That got resolved so I asked if they would fight for us. Oak Park is in a rich county but it's not a rich city. This story made CNN. I told one person down here that Oak Park is where the people who clean the toilets and dust Madonna's pointy bra at Mon Jin Lau (pricey Chinese place in Oakland County) live. I think the problem with this county, with all due respect, is too many people just are too busy trying to get by to care. I put this out on my collie lists a few weeks ago but it's kind of dying down. I did hear from the sheriff then. Then I got charged. That was Aaron Jenkins. To be crude, I think that somebody or somebodies are probably in each others uniforms. Maybe I'm wrong but I've seen this on my old job and I know how this works. Forgive me if I'm jaded.

Damn! What the hell does all this about the HOA got to do with Tommy Adams and his cellphone. Get a life!!!!!!!!!!

It has to do with a sheriff who has a staff that is out of control. Andrea Taylor is a deputy who is using that as a way to intimidate people in the HOA where she is on the BOD. She used that to get a search warrant sworn out against us on bogus charges. Now suppose you're some perp in prison and she's the forensic officer who helped put you there. It's not much of a stretch to get your lawyer to go into court and say this woman has a history of lying--she's done it to us--and get evidence thrown out. It's a pattern of behavior. It's not just one deputy. It's at least two. And it's a county commissioner and an animal control officer and a guy in the county manager's office and shall I go on? Documents have been withheld in our case and I've been openly lied to and oh, yes, a little thing called the Americans With Disabilities Act, a federal law, has been violated about 3 times over, and that was just in June. The emperor has no clothes. How does this jackass keep getting elected? I was a state employee up in MI and if I used a paper clip for my own personal use, I got into big trouble. Clearly the line down here in this county is a little blurry. Do you work for Mr. Redmond? Go to church with this good Christian man? I'm impressed. This HOA, run by a BOD who have decided NOT to have elections--I repeat--Deputy Andrea Taylor is the VP--is trying to put a 70 year old woman with cancer out on the street. And after they kicked in the door and executed their little search warrant (during which they weren't going to let her cover herself and almost made her stand out in the heat) dear Andrea walked by sometime later to admire her handiwork. It's called stalking. She did it last year too. We started locking the door here because of her and the HOA. We want an order of protection against her. She works for the sheriff so it is on topic. Deal with it. I have a life and this sheriff is in it. I'm going to be his worst nightmare come election time. Christians don't do this to women with cancer. I will fight for my friend. He can put me on the street. Carol doesn't deserve this. She should have some peace in her final years.

What does Andrea Taylor working for the Sheriff's Office have to do with her being on an HOA Board? You said that she got a search warrant sworn out; if she did that, why is she in forensics? Sould like ya'll need to have another HOA election.

I see it everyday said...

To 10:49 (Crazy cat lady). Andrea Taylor being a Deputy has nothing to do with her being on the HOA board. Funny how some people think you give up the right to have a life because you are a deputy. You are as bad as Redmond in your interpretation of LEO's rights. Redmond doesn't think you should have a life either. He wants you to flawlessly represent him to try to keep up his image as a God fearing law abiding Christian example of leadership and accountability. UNLESS you are one of his boys. Then you can do whatever you damn well please. You know, like keep the county cell phone to use because nobody thought it would be this long until the silly ass grand jury indictment went away.

Oh, contraire, it has everything to do. Abuse of power. When Ms Taylor comes trespassing up on our lawn in her uniform and her gun on and demanding to know what we're going to do with mulch, and shall I go on and on, it's inapprorpriat. Ms Taylor has been abusing her power on the HOA for years. I may be crazy but I sure as hell know when I am being defacated on. When people in this sub are living in fear of breaking some rule and the officers can do as they damn well please, then there is something wrong with this picture. The fees are going to a mailbox at a UPS Store in Huntersville. The pond that they are supposed to be keeping up is a health hazard and has been for 3 months. They are "in the process of ordering a motor" for the fountain to keep it aerated. So in the meantime, we get to smell it and slap mosquitoes that are carrying who knows what, and both of us have breathing disorders. Oh, yes, and the park at the other end of this sub? It looks like a training ground for serial killers and pedophiles. Like it or not, this BOD is taking money and not doing their job. They have no respect for the residents of this HOA. NONE. It's a joke. As for an election, the BOD decided we did not need one. This HOA can and should be dissolved. When a HOA person says to me, TWICE, as the homeowner is in ICU in Winston-Salem, a year ago, fighting for her life (15 inch incision, 24 staples and bleeding, tumor everywhere) "I don't know why an old woman buys a house she can't keep up," that is uncalled for and frankly, illegal, under HUD legislation. Perhaps someone ought to look at Andrea Taylor's phone useage. She actually put her name on a complaint she filed against us once. As for being Crazy Cat Lady, Carol was the national chair of a cat rescue. It still exists. She resigned when she got sick. They're still considered right up there with the likes of the ASPCA, only on a smaller scale, so take your slurs elsewhere. And I'll remind you, Chris Royal has my service dog. That's a violation of federal law. Can this county afford a lawsuit? I won't hesitate and we have quite a few grounds building up as I type.

Anonymous said...

By the way, if this place was so bad, and the animals were so sick, where were the TV cameras? Why is Carol still here? Where's the health department? This was never about the house, it was about the property and the fact that Andrea stood up at a HOA meeting over a year ago and announced that she had it out for us and oh, yes, she's also had other neighbor's dogs seized for minor infractions, like, gasp, slipping the leash. Oh, my. I just wonder about the concept of Southern Christianity and neighborliness. I also wonder about the idea that most people down here are conservative and want government out of their lives. Seems like HOA's are pseudo government and don't even offer due process and they are in every aspect of your life. They are truly teflon and getting away with murder. Andrea is a liar and a manipulator and her pattern of behavior is putting every citizen in this county at risk because some clever defense attorney is goint to capitalize on it one day. You watch. The sheriff has no spine or he would put a stop to it. I was a public employee all my adult life. This would have not been allowed where I come from--and yes, I know, I'm in NC now.

One of the cats, Journey, is 12 years old. She was a feral kitten born outside my house in MI. A creep of a cop up there live-trapped her, starved her, and dumped her in the country. (He's now a former cop, LOL) She found her way back to me and I brought her in the house and kept her with me. A year and a half ago, she started showing signs of what our vet said was an oral mass and this was "the end." Another vet said it was stomatitis, which is an immune system disorder where the teeth attack the body and and some have to go. It is an expensive surgery but this cat clearly wanted to live and I love this cat dearly. I'm crying as I type this. She is just special. Carol loves her too. I called around and tried to get a payment plan. We ended up getting a grant donations and a local vet who did the surgery for a reasonable price. The other option was to drive her up to Richmond, VA to a charity clinic and back. She has 2 teeth and is very attached to and dependent on me. I begged them to leave her. She's been thriving for a year. They don't know how to care for her and they won't give her the loving care that I do. She is always by me. ALWAYS. And do they know how to care for a heavy coated collie? I think not. If she gets wet, and not dried properly, she'll get a hot spot. She's laying in a cage, not exercising, so she's matting. Yeah, they're all better off up there. I heard from a reputable rescue here that Chris Royal let a Maltese that had been hit by a car lay for a week up there and that the rescue person has to kiss her backside to get the dog out. Royal did not even call a vet for the poor dog. Yeah, I have faith my animals are being cared for . They're much better off up there than they are with us. I guess the taxpayers can afford it.

Again all about the cats and such. File a lawsuit already CCW.

I will agree that the Sheriff has no spine. Viagra could possibly be the only thing that keeps him upright.

I intend to sue, but you don't get it. It's about abuse of power. It's about inappropriate actions by a HOA. What's next? Can they come into your house to make sure you wash your dishes every night? Or you make your bed in the morning before you go to work? When a HOA officer says "I don't know why an old woman buys a home she can't keep up," does that mean if your of a certain age and the HOA thinks you might become disabled, they can refuse to sell you a house? What if you get cancer at age 35? What if the president doesn't like your kids? It boggles my mind that in a red state, where people are constantly saying we need government out of our lives we are laying down and letting these people put their boots on our necks. City codes aren't enough? The covenant says we can have obscured clotheslines for example, but the newletter says no. Energy bills aren't high enough? Who am I hurting by the occasional pleasure of drying my sheets on the line? It isn't about the cats, it's about personal property and a bunch of anal retentive control freaks with too much time on their hands and a clear abuse of power. I pay taxes here and I resent my taxes going for waste because some deputy with a HOA agenda wants us out of here. And oh, by the way, shouldn't someone check the immigration status of the guys the HOA had working here last summer, eh, Mr, Law and Order? Bet that's why they were grinding stumps AFTER DARKon a school night.

Anonymous said...

Crazy cat lady... I get it, you don't. If you think that a deputy is abusing his or her power to bully you through a HOA, then stick to that. We don't give a flying flip about your dried up pond or a comment that someone said about your friend that hurt your feelings. And about you keeping your house up and being disabled; that is the reason for HOA to keep property values up so nobody is living next to a shithole. If you can't afford to do that then you are breaking the agreement upon which you purchased your home. Again, that isn't what we are here to discuss. You have posts that are tainted with bits and pieces of references to Redmond and his officers but mostly about stuff that nobody here gives a rats ass about. Also, you haven't proven a damn thing about the deputy abusing her power. Go feed your cats, mow your grass and visit your friend. Find somewhere else to do your wailing.

Hey, Phil, or Andrea, this isn't a shithole, the lawn gets mowed. I've been reading some of Jaime's article's. The sheriff pays a journalist's phone bills? Really? Is that supposed to passed the sniff test? Is it coming out of his pocket? Oh, wait, we pay his salary. And what about the HOA's agreement to keep up the pond and park? Those keep twisting in the wind for months and years and we get excuses. It's called breach of contract, pal, and I'll bet the FBI would like to look into how Phil and Andrea and all of these little entanglements shake out. Herman Management makes little cmpliance drive-throughs but overlooks the shithole right across the street from us. You come and breathe in that for about 5 minutes. We've had 3 months of it. Oh, yes, Herman Management? A mailbox in a UPS Store in Huntersville. I want to see their contracts, licenses, books, where do I go to see that? I have a right. There is a little thing too called the Constitution and the Bill of Rights that Miss Andrea ran right over. Did I miss a memo here, did North Carolina not get put back in the Union after the Civil War? Because I'm quite sure I'm still in the US down here. These dictators running this HOA take our money and do as they damn well please but let us step out of line and all hell breaks loose. It is disrespectful to each and every resident here. We are not stupid. This is not Stalingrad or North Korea. Go polish your little tin badge, Andrea, I'm on to you.

Oh, and I'm not wailing either. Far from it. A HOA is just a fancy new way to bully and be bigots. I've been to the back of the bus, I'm staying right here. The fact you are calling me names shows Im hitting a nerve.

Give it up on the journalists phone. You heard Frank Mitchell, the sheriff's department willingly let the reporter have use of a phone for emergency management reasons. There was a public benefit reason for that, unlike some of your choices. Also I don't think the FBI has any interest in your dried up pond, dog walking area or HOA fees.

Anonymous said...

If you have been reading the articles then you should be able to see by now that Jamie only stirs the pot to try to be somebody. The thing with Deputy Adams started with her article about being above the law. Have you read that? It's all bullshit intended to make a good man look bad. She has a boner for Sheriff Redmond for whatever reason. Maybe because like you, she doesn't have a life. Possibly you and Jamie could start a cat farm somewhere in the midwest and leave good people alone.

Anonymous said...

Ok, Andrea, whatever you say. Never heard of a reporter havin a phone from a sheriff for emergency reasons. The FBI doesn't care about a pond but they do care about money that people pay for something that goes for something else. The name Bernie Madoff ring a bell? I don't care if it's $50 or $50 billion, we got a HOA here with one of Redmond's employees running the show and not a damn thing getting done but they keep cashing our checks. Something stinks and it isn't just the pond. You might want to take a drive by, the pond isn't dried up, by the way. And wasn't there just a mayor Mooresville talking dirty on his town computer? I don't want to hear how local officers are so aboveboard here. I ain't buying it.

Oh, wait, I know who this is. Aaron, is that you? That's the guy who told me the cops couldn't serve me with papers because, wait for it, the nesting birds here, barn swallows, were "flogging" them. LOL. Our public safety officers, sworn to protect and serve, can't get past a couple of barn swallows. I go past them all the time. Hell, come on criminals. If barn swallows can take the cops, knocking over a liquor store ought to be a pices of cake. I went outside and waited for them. Wouldn't want armed officers to be flogged by a 2 ounce bird.

You keep picking on a couple of deputies. I believe you are scared of our fine Sheriff and only running your mouth where you feel comfortable. You know he is a good man and the FBI has no interest in him. However you are beginning to sound like a real kook. If you keep on you might get their attention. Goodnight CCW!

Anonymous said...

Oh, puh-leeze, bigger and better than your sheriff have tried and failed to scare me, Aaron. What a suck-up you are. When you blow your nose, you have to hold your handkerchief to Phillies belly-button. Don't know what you mean by CCW, I don't carry a concealed weapon, don't have to. A good man does not come in for just 2 hours a day and takes the tax payer dollar for a full day. The FBI is interested in a management company that takes money and doesn't fulfill its contract. I think RICO statutes and Ponzi schemes come to mind. And when a deputy has her dainty little fingers in that pie, well, it sure does taint her boss now doesn't it?

Anonymous said...

CCW = Crazy Cat Woman.

Anonymous said...

Now explain where you think RICO applies here? That was designed to take down organized crime. I don't think your mud hole of a pond falls under that category. Maybe if it stands for Rotten Indoor Cat Operation. Go clean out your litter box and leave the good Sheriff alone. By the way, he is only in the office a few hours a day because he is out riding around the county getting input from citizens. The sane ones anyway.

6:39 If you think the sheriff is good, you might have a few cats in your house also.

Getting input from citizens? Only if they are coming into his lawnmower busines. Apparently you have not been reading the acticles Ms Gatton has made. There are several situations that demonstrate how useless he is as a sheriff. A real Sheriff would clarify why he has allowed some of these things to happen. He owes that to the citizens of Iredell county.

Do you really think he did not know Tommy still had the county cell phone? One word for you buddy........meow.

Sounds to me like Phil needs to get on one of his lawnmowers and make a house call on those gals and get a whiff of what's going on over there.

July 17 7:09 you obviously are someone that is benefiting from the Sheriff's corruption.

So the article is bullshit? Bullshit would infer that it is not true. Okay, which part is not true? Are the readers just supposed to take your word because you say it? If you are going to call her out, then have the balls to do it right, back it up with facts. She has clearly backed up her points with facts. Why can't you do the same?

It is not that she has a boner for the Sheriff. She, like most of us, just want honesty and integrity in our leadership. That is why she exposed the Cops for Kids situation, which resulted in the indictment of the Chief of police in Mooresville. That is why she exposed the actions of the town mayor. And that is why she is exposing the wrong doings of Mr. Redmond.

Now as far as her stiring the pot to be somebody, I can think of other people who where known for "stiring the pot": Rosa Parks, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Samuel Adams, Nathan Hale, Martin Luther King Jr. Shall I continue?

Please get to work on that list of why it is bullshit. I am VERY curious to read it.

I worked for a good old boy who was supposed to be out in the community making "employer contact." This was a state job. It was the taxpayer dime. No, it wasn't here. Problem was he was making employer contact in the local bars and golf courses and his employment guy was catching him at it with a camera and when he was in the office, his wife, who worked there, caught him boinking the cute little blonde summer help in the supply room--after he sent home a couple of the permanemts on temporary furloughs for the afternoons. Dude got canned. He had managed to keep this up for a few years, even had his pals up the food chain bailing his butt out and protecting him from getting canned once or twice but once blondie turned on him, all bets were off.

RICO is, as I recall, something to do with taking money under false pretenses. Racketeering. The HOA is taking our money and not doing what it's supposed to be doing. We have no location to go to so we can inspect books. I wonder if Andrea and Phil have a condo in Costa Rica with our fees? Is that why they can't fix this pond? Training junkets to Vegas? Just asking.

Anonymous said...

HOAs are not his MO, CCW. Let's drop the BS and RICO ASAP.

I don't think so. I'm going to be old Phil's worst nightmare come election time. Keep calling me crazy, Aaron. Are you on a county computer, now? Come on over, or are you afraid of our barn swallow? Big man. Gonna be good fishing in this swill swamp soon, once these bullhead start to grow, that is, if you want to risk eating them. I'll spring for the bait. You have a thing with the alphabet. Showing off that 8th grade education? Putting on airs now?

There are a few well-paid county officials who would do well to avail themselves of spell-check and basic grammar lessons. I used to teach and I'd have flunked them and that was at the middle school level.

Reading back I see Ken Robertson has been having a romance with a top deputy to the county manager. Is there anyone in this county with clean hands? How is it these people keep getting elected?

Tennessee Tigress said...

I am waiting for that list of bullshit too. Sure sounds to me like there is plenty of hanky-panky going on up in Phil's offices and lawnmower shop and Lord knows where else. I am beginning to lose track of who has what cookie jar and what hand is in it. Seems to me that those who are getting their cages rattled go a little batshit and start getting all defensive. Put up or shut up Redmond ass kissers.

Tenn. Tigress. It is just a case of the corrupt leading the clueless. That is why he keeps getting re-elected.

I think Phil's narcotics guys should try some "in house" knock and talks.

Tennessee Tigress said...

I retired down here to be close to family a few years back and I started hearing about this sumbitch right off. I did not vote for him and I'm never gonna vote for him. Seems to me we got a bunch of dirty old boys lapping up our taxes. Are we paying for that Viagra holding up King Philip's spine? I thought TN was bad but this county... You got a mayor talking dirty and well, now I'm just getting angry. And I'm still waiting anxiously on that list of bullshit. I thought we were all promised it.

TT, you are a hoot, you go, girl. What are the good sheriff's qualifications? I'm not seeing a whole lot of integrity and ethics in his office. Seems to me that we good citizens ought to go sit in his lobby until he comes out and answers to us. Oh, wait, he's never there, is he? And mark me down as someone who never heard of a reporter getting a phone for emergency purposes either. That is unless that girl was getting summoned for some sort of nefarious emergency purpose. LOL.

Tennessee Tigress said...

Upon reviewing some of these comments, I am wondering why nobody called ICE or OSHA on Miss Deputy Taylor's HOA stump grinding crew? Seems to me the statue of limitations might still be in effect. Anyone out there who might know?

9:44 said, A real Sheriff would clarify why he has allowed some of these things to happen.

News flash cat lady, the Sheriff doesn't have time to jump every time some looney bird makes an accusation. He is running a large law enforcement agency. And so what if Tommy still had the phone, he was a good employee who will be cleared when this thing hits court. Be there. Without your cats.

11:11 I'm not benefiting from anything. Just supporting a good man who has been belittled by a handful of fruitcakes without lives. Also the article is bullshit and as I said on court day you will see.

Jamie exposed Cops For Kids. Where has that gone? How many years ago was that? Don't you think if there was something to it that the day in court would have already come and gone. And she isn't exposing the wrongdoings of Redmond because there are no wrongdoings. If there was don't you think the SBI or FBI would have already been in here? Sheriffs are getting indicted in counties all around us, but not this one. What does that tell you?

11:43 you better look up the RICO act again. I don't think it will come even close to your invented HOA problem. "Andrea and Phil have a condo in Costa Rica with our fees?" You are wearing an aluminum foil hat aren't you?

1:00 you are going to be Phil's worst nightmare come election time? I guess you have to threaten action so far off because you don't have anything to go after him for now.

It's a good thing that ya'll have the Rotten Report to post on because a real news agency would laugh you out the door.

Tennessee Tigress said...

Whooeee there Bubba. Y'all wake up on the wrong side of the outhouse there from that there last case of beer? We're still waiting on that list of bullshit there so best get yer crayons and stick yer tongue out and start writing buddy.

Court day, why, my oh my, this is what Tommy Boy is doing with his down time. Sheriffs are getting indicted in counties all around us? Name them please? We don't live in them. We live HERE. Sheriffs get indicted? Is Phil about to be indicted? Do tell. I don't blame someone living in a HOA where things aren't being done and having to throw good money after bad. I'd wonder too. When someone is working for a sheriff, that would make me ask a lot of questions. Lots of them. I think there are plenty of things to go after this sheriff. He's had a number of people go out under shadowy circumstances, hasn't he? Kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I think Ms. Gatton is doing a fine job and looks to be pretty real to me. Looks to me like someone is getting awfully squirmy and lashing out. Methinks thou doth protest too much. Hasn't your lawyer told you to keep quiet yet?

Anonymous said...

Why should I name which counties you seem to know every damn thing about the place having moved here from Yankeeland.

I noticed you said that you had bigger and better than your sheriff that have tried and failed to scare me. Sounds like you are an unhappy person who stirs up crap everywhere you go. Did you get run out of a nice development where you came from too? Sounds like you have a track record. Our Sheriff has a track record for getting drugs off the streets and having a higher than usual number of cases cleared. Why do you insist on belittling a man who does a great job and surrounds himself with professional people?

And you think Gatton is doing a fine job? Who else do you see posting on here CCW? This blog isn't getting any attention for the same reason that a real news agency won't touch a story on our good Sheriff. It's all bullshit!

Anonymous said...

You're assuming quite a bit, Tommy, aren't you? I'm not that person you have been calling names and I'm not from Yankeeland. I was born and raised right around here. Try again. You're the one who keeps saying that this report is all bullshit and a number of us are simply asking you to list the bullshit and back it up. In short, put up or shut up. And I am asking again, since you are excusing the actions by telling us that two wrongs make a right, list the counties around us where sheriffs have been indicted and name the sheriffs. Otherwise put YOUR tinfoil hat back on and go back to looking at porn. You have noting useful to add here.

Umm, I'll take this one, thanks. I may be from MI, but my father's family is from TN, goes way back, I don't know the Tigress though. My grandmother's maiden name was Forrest, as in Nathan Bedford, yes, that one. Call me a Yankee again. I am a Yankee but I have southern blood and it probably runs deeper than yours. My family came over on the Mayflower and married into the native population. Oh, yeah, there is a hill in Gettysburg with another relative's name on a plaque, the "Boy Colonel" J W Latimer, from VMI, mortally wounded leading artillery from VA on Benner's Hill. Try again.

Nope, only Gatton. Oh, and you and the Crazy Cat Lady

I just got in from a family vacation this afternoon and am finally sitting down to read some things and I have a few questions. How is it that someone gets suspended and they don't have to turn in keys, passes, ID's, phone, laptop, company car, whatever equipment they use in the course of a job? I've been laid off several times and have had to turn in all of that stuff, even for just a week long layoff. This wasn't a high security job either. Secondly, what does a reporter have to do with emergency management? Does she need it to call out the National Guard if we get hit by a hurricane? Thirdly, why hasn't this ex-deputy been charged with some sort of theft over these phone charges? Seems to me that the good citizens of Iredell County are getting ripped off. There is no accountability in this county. "Stay in yoour own lane." "Stand alone." Sounds like pass the buck speak to me.

Great system. Right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing or so they say. Robertson is a big fat jackass. Mr. Army Man. Yeah right. I can see him in the army. He couldn't pour pee out of a boot if there was instructions on the heel.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like Robertson needs to go. I used to think Johnson was a decent person. I once saw him grill the leader of an alternative school for rewarding an employee with paid days off. Johnson claimed it was a waste of tax dollars. What happened to that man. Seems like he is no longer looking out for the folks. I guess he needs to go also.

The jury is still out on Marvin Norman and Renee Griffin. Seems like the leader of the local tea party would be leading the cause when it comes to issues of transparency in government and wasting tax dollars. Perhaps she is using the name of the tea party to keep her position and she really does not care one way or the other. Oh I realize she stood up against a raise in taxes, but it could have been a show for the people.

Griffin you best weigh in quickly, or I will start my own tea party for your removal.

Anonymous said...

1:25 Sounds like Griffing may be related to Darren Campbell...lol

Anonymous said...

Renee Griffith, don't get me started. She has feet of clay and no spine. She promises to do things and you never hear back from her. She's about as worthless as tits on a bull. She needs to stay home and bake cookies. Another one that needs to be flushed down the drain.

Anonymous said...

Do tell about Darren Campbell, inquiring minds want to know. I've had my run-ins with him. He can't get his stories straight if they are right in front of him in foot high letters. Or pictures. I am just loving the line about no direct intervention by the county commissioners. WTF do we need them for and WTF do we pay them for then? Bunch of damn yahoos running things in Statesville and all we get is bullshit excuses and after the fact "oh, we're taking care of it." These folks got no respect for the rest of us but they sure are picking our pockets for their paychecks and expense checks while they are laughing up their sleeves at us. Oh, they forgot. Sure, when Adams is calling Redmond and they are yukking it up at the rest of us at how they are screwing us over. Why the hell isn't Redmond in the next cell? Isn't this misappropriation of tax funds or whatever the hell they are? He's a real good man. Real good at sticking it to all of us.

What exactly was the obstruction of justice that Tommy Boy supposedly did and when is he going to trial? I would love to attend.

Anonymous said...

And still ya'll go on. Like I said yesterday, it's a good thing that you have this piece of shit blog written by a piece of shit wanna be reporter. Otherwise, nobody would hear you whining.

I guess you think I am being disrespectful. How is it that you can make fun of a good man who tried to make something right? Rick Dowdle tried to do the right thing after a mistake was made and because he had trouble explaining himself you have to make fun of him. Then he has a heart attack and you think that is funny. Porky Nitro? Real classy asshole. He could have died you know. I guess that would have been hysterical.

Darren Campbell is another top notch person that you seem to have it in for. Why? I don't know. He tried to handle the mistake with the firearms and keep it on the upright and now you have it in for him as well. And yes, it was a mistake, a moment of poor judgement, not a criminal act like a handful of people are trying to make it out to be.

Tennessee Tigress the only obstruction of justice is that Tommy isn't currently working for the citizens of Iredell County. He will be back when this thing gets to court, but until then it is a loss for the county to have such a qualified person suspended from active duty.

And again, if there was ANY validity to ANY of these accusations it would be covered by the real news people instead of being on a piece of shit blog in internet land where anybody can say whatever they want. Leave Sheriff Redmond and his good people alone and get a life. Mind your own business and maybe your damned cats wouldn't have gone to kitty prison.

Anonymous said...

Good people? I damned near pissed myself laughing at that one. You just get off shift scrubbing toilets at Taco Bell there, Bubba? It's a bitch when you haven't got that county paycheck isn't it? Old Phil is gonna throw your sorry ass under the bus to get re-elected so fast. Who is paying for Kim Taylor? Didn't she tell you to shut up till after the trial? You know what they do to ex-lawmen in stir, Bubba? It ain't pretty. Big Moose is gonna make you his mrs. LOL. Meow.

Anonymous said...

Hey there, dipshit, we don't want Tommy, I mean, you, working for the county, period. Seems to us that there are sure a lot of "mistakes" in Phil's little palace there. It just never ends now does it? President Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that said "the buck stops here." Phil Redmond is the commander in chief of the sheriff's office and the buck stops at his desk. He is responsible. So all these little fiascos are on his watch. Dowdle, Campbell, Taylor, Donna, you, I'm beginning to think someone in Raleigh ought to send in someone a government appointed watchdog to keep an eye on things in this county so that Phil can't fart without it generating a report in triplicate. Same goes for Ken, Renee, Mashburn, and the rest of that bunch of sticky-fingered thieves in Statesville. They think we're all too stupid to figure out what they're all about up there. No judge or jury is going to be all that impressed with all your boot-licking, Tommy, but you just keep on keeping on. By the way, are you typing these comments on a county laptop? Jackass.

Anonymous said...

7:28, I was almost with you. I can understand the sympathy for Dowdle, I see that you, like many, see Redmond as he wants you to see him, and Darren seems like a nice guy, but seriously, "Tommy will be back when this thing gets to court?" That just shows your complete lack of judgment.

Anonymous said...

Redmond rules? See there is your problem. The people rule and the government works for the people. I think Tommy is being delusional. Obstuction? Sounds like someone either needs to get more fiber or needs to get their tiny little brain cleared out.

Anonymous said...

I've read back about Tommy Adams and doesn't one have to pass a background check to be employed in the sheriff's department? Is there no ethics in civil service in this county? This guy had a checked past before he ever hit Phil Redmond's door. Why does the term sociopath come to mind?

I see it everyday said...

Redmond knew about Tommy's past and his current attitude before he hired him. That is the kind of people that he likes to keep close to him so he can do the things he does. He hired another person who had an Iredell County jail file for a DUI. Same person went around threatening people during the election. When you are smart you have people to do your dirty work for you. That way if the shit hits the fan you can say that you didn't know anything about it.

Anonymous said...

6:18: Everybody makes mistakes. You try hiring someone who has never done anything wrong. There are two kinds of people in this world, those who have done something wrong without getting caught and those who have done something wrong and got caught.

Fortunately Sheriff Redmond is a good enough soul to realize this. He doesn't sit on his high horse and judge people. Maybe you could learn from his Christian example and better yourself.

Anonymous said...

Silly me, I thought people in law enforcement should have clean records. I am quite sure that that there are plenty of people in this county with an adequate background who have clean records. I worked in the public sector all my life and you could get suspended for a serious speeding ticket if you were a janitor working away from public contact. This is unacceptable. It has nothing to do with being Christian. I'll bet you were screaming for Congressman Weiner's hide last month for him showing a collge girl pictures of his undies. Everyone makes mistakes. Embezzlement, DUI, obstruction of justice aren't mistakes, they are criminal offenses. Someone working in law enforcement should know better. They're held, and rightfully so, to a higher standard.

I think we should select a day as "Phil Redmond Sharpie day" On that day everyone should mail Phil Redmond a Sharpie or magic marker. This will be a way of letting him know that the people are on to him and his unethical ways.

Anonymous said...

The incredible arrogance of officials in this county is beyond belief. They seem to think that they can be caught with some blonde on their desk in the act with a pile of money and cocaine right next to them and they think it's all ok and we'll all look the other way and vote them back in. I hope CNN is reading this blog. I hope the Charlotte Observer is reading it too. High time someone got knocked off his high horse and his lawnmower. Hope you're reading this Phil, Ken, Renee, and the rest of Y'all. Gettin a little hot there in the kitchen?

Anonymous said...

I'm up for mailing him a Sharpie. How about around Labor Day, so the real working people can send him a message? Big RED marker. Red catches the eye first. Of course, then the whole office will be getting high off the fumes all day.

Anonymous said...

I will say this, Redmond has been fair to Tommy. At least he is waiting until after the verdict to determine his employment. Seems like he has it right in that area....no wait, I forgot about Huffstickler.

Dennis Huffstickler was FIRED on the night he was arrested for domestic violence. All of his equipment, cell phone included, was taken from him. Huffstickler begged for an internal investigation. He called several people at the Sheriff's Office, including the ball-less one, Darren Campbell, but none of them would listen to him. You see, Huffstickler was not in the club.

Huffstickler, during this time was a single parent, and was the only provider for his child. He struggled to make ends meet as the folks he asked for help continued living their lives. Almost a year later he was found NOT GUILTY.

Huffstickler, like any normal person, had hard feelings about the way he was treated by this unethical organization, so when the ball-less one slithered out to his house to offer him his job back, as well as a Re-elect Redmond sign, Huffstickler declined. I am sure this suprised the Mr. Campbell seeing how he is not accustomed to seeing the actions of a man with balls.

To summarize this: A friend of the Sheriff with an embezzlement charge in his past was hired. Suprise! the suspected thief strikes again and removes two guns from evidence, then lies about having them. After being indicted, "Good ole boy" Phil waits for the outcome of the trial before taking any action against him.

Huffstickler is accused of domestic violence and his fired right away.

Oh, and yes, Campbell still has no balls...

What proof do you have of these accusations? It's a good thing that nobody knows your name to get on here and post made up shit about you! Sheriff Redmond and his people are top notch law enforcement officers who have wreaked havoc with the criminal element in this county. The equipment available to officers has been upgraded to top standards. Sheriff Redmond even stuck his neck out and went after a judge who was going to remove God's name from the courtroom! Does this sound like a criminal to you??!!!!!!!

Have you ever made a mistake? Sounds you walk on water in your eyes. Must be nice to bump your halo getting in and out of your car.

There he is, right on schedule, Deputy Bullshit. Just so happens I'm not the Cat Woman but by God, I do know someone at CNN, he used to date a friend of my niece, nice guy too. Funny, how everyone who points out the failings of King Phillip is working for a rag. I don't buy the Rag and Landfill but I do subscribe to the Charlotte Observer and I hear that WSOC did a story on you, yesterday, Tommy. I can see where you think sucking up to the boss is going to get you your job back when you get out of jail. Ain't gonna happen, pal. By then, he'll be voted out. We've all made mistakes. There is a big difference between mistakes and crimes. Oh, and removing God's name from the courtroom. How much time and money did he waste on that while real crime was going on in this county? That's just pandering. You want to get people foaming at the mouth bring up God, they'll forget about everything else everytime. At least the ones who aren't paying attention to the real issues.

So, Tommy, or Tommy's Mommy, or Mrs. Tommy, you might be better served planning for Tommy's confinement. How long is that sentence going to be? Inquiring minds want to know? Keep the heat on, Jaime. Pretty soon King Phillip is going to cut his losses and start throwing more and more of his lackeys under the bus. I'll bet his replacements in 2014 are reading this blog and planning their campaign as we speak right now.

Another thing, if Sheriff Redmond and his people are into all the things you accuse them of they wouldn't make it until next election because they would be indicted and removed from office. Seeing as how you have to hinge your hopes on him being voted out you must not have much to go on. By the way, that running against him stuff has been tried and proved that he IS the King as you call him. People know a good man when they get to the polls!

Thank you Mr. Skywalker. Everyone was dancing around that issue, and you clarified it very profoundly.

I am a member of the tea party movement. I have a strong belief in an open and honest government that answers to the people.

First off, let me clarify something. Renee Griffith does not represent the tea beliefs of the tea party. As a member I can tell you that the tea party has strong feelings about transparency in government. A situation like Tommy Adams cell phone records is not acceptable to the tea party because it does not uphold that belief. The situation with Donna Swicegood getting a county cell phone also does not go along with the ideology of the tea party simply because it is a waste of tax payer dollars.

Griffith’s failure to answer Ms. Gatton is a clear indication of her feelings about transparency. Some may argue that she is taking a firm stand about raising taxes. However, I feel Griffith is playing politics. Griffith knows that taxes will be raised regardless of her stance. Next election she will be able to tell the people she stood strongly against the tax increase. This will be her way to keep her seat. If anything, her actions are anti-tea party, and she should be ashamed for deceiving the people.

I encourage the members of the local tea party to have her removed from her position and replace her with a person who truly shares their beliefs.

I personally don't care what party a person belongs to. On some issues I am a Democrat, on others, I'm a Republican, and I am sick of this drawing of lines. As for Ms. Griffith, she is spineless. She comes across as concerned and interested and promises to follow up but can't answer a simple and direct question and does not get back as promised. The issue may not be important to her but to the citizen contacting her, it is. I've heard this from countless people. So much for her compassion and concern for families, she has a family and understands just like you. Oh, yeah. For being ex-Army, Robertson has sure learned to let the buck pass on down the food chain. This seems to be a real pattern in this county. "You have to go to the clerk." So we go to the clerk. Then it's "go to the magistrate." On other issues, it's go here, go there. Buck passing is an Olympic Sport in this county. As for the esteemed sheriff. I just love how his name is plastered all over everything. I spent some time in traffic in Statesville today by a trailer with the sheriff's logo on it but that wasn't enough. It had to have his name in even bigger letters. Is this guy on an ego trip or what? I'm with the cat lady. Something is rotten here and I don't think it's just her pond. Whatever happened to "we the people?"

Anonymous said...

There is no transparency in this county. If I spent as much time trying to cover my tracks as this bunch does, I need about fifty more hours in a day. I wonder how anything gets done. I'm a little late coming to this, but Frank Mitchell's comment was just priceless. They're not going to try and recuperate the cost of a reporter's phone. Isn't the correct term "recoup?" I believe "recouperate" means to recover from an illness or an injury. On the other hand, maybe he's correct because we're all sure getting kicked in the head by this bunch. Of course, again, another shining example of the intellect of our county leadership. God Almighty, the buffoonery up in the hallowed halls of Statesville... Yes, let's keep making cuts to the public education system in this state, shall we?

Most people want a county and communities to grow or at least see some economic development like jobs and businesses coming in, maybe some tourism. I bet some nice business or tour group would just be chomping at the bit to come into a county where there are deputies under indictment, reporters apparently less than objective, and county officials who are barely literate. Iredell County is a real class act, all right. Oh, and five suspensions in four years? whatever happened to three strikes and you're out? Damn, Phil is a real forgiving sort. I'd put my house up for sale but no one with half a brain is going to buy a house in this backwater. Charlotte is starting to look better and better. At least there we know who the crooks are.

I think this is just Phil telling the citizens what he's going to keep doing to them. Nothing new. He's been doing it all along. What's the matter? Run out of goats?

This just reinforces the statements about the intellectual level of those running the county. They and ther ilk just keep holding up the good old shit kicking cracker from the backwoods inbreeding with their cousins and making moonshine reputation that we have all over the world. Thanks loads, folks.

Anonymous said...

Renee Griffith started the Tea Party in Iredell county. How can you say she doesn't have Tea party beliefs? She is about as hard core tea party as it gets. She continues to find creative solutions to all our problems and is a fine Chrisitan woman. We are lucky to have a woman like her and need about 4 more like her.
She loves this county and will keep fighting for all of us with her strong leadership and judeo-christian values.

Anonymous said...

A fine Christian woman would keep her word. She promised to check on my animals and get back with me. I'm still waiting.

And speaking of ilk, I believe that is what is growing in the pond across the street from us. So now we know where it's coming from.

I don't see any strong leadership or any compasssion. Only lies and bullying. And everyone knows bullies are cowards.

I've seen the fine Christian practices of this county when we started getting letters threatening to put a 70 year old woman with cancer out of her paid for home over an odor that was coming from the HOA pond, not us. We're getting fined by the HOA for that, without due process. Where are you on that, Renee Griffith? I'm just bowled over by Southern Christianity.

Anonymous said...

By the way, Sister Griffith, Carol had to stop the chemo that is keeping her cancer at bay for 2 months because she had a blister on her leg caused by fluid from her cancer. She had to go up to Statesville to wound treatment. Because the HOA let that pond fester, mosquitoes hatched. We were out working in the yard the other night in the heat and poor air quality to keep the HOA off our backs and we all got eaten alive. If any of those bites open up and she has to stop chemo again because the HOA has been negligent and ignored that pond, who do we go to? We have been to every agency and so on to get that hazard fixed and the HOA keeps cashing everyone's checks and making excuses but let a blade of grass go out of place and we get fined. Yeah, you all are fine upstanding Christians down here and none of your actions or inactions have consequences.

Anonymous said...

Renee keeps her word! She is the best county commissioner we've ever had in this county. You are out of your mind. Keep up the good work and keep on with your common sense-creative solutions commissioner Griffith!

Anonymous said...

Oh, yes, I'm out of my mind. She gave her word to me and did not keep it. I know what my Bible says about that. Wonder what hers says. Funny, I thought she cared. This shows me what the Tea Party is all about, just whipping up a frenzy and doing nothing. By the way, that dog of mine? Service dog. Guess this county doesn't have to uphold fedral law. I'm underwhelmed by Sister Griffith's Christian Compassion.

Anonymous said...

11:55 You seem to be a decent person that has just been mislead. Griffith selected not to respond to Ms. Gatton. This is not acceptable. As much as I did not like the responses from the other commissioners, I do respect them for responding. At least, I, as a citizen know where they stand. Griffith decided to hide from the issue (not a tea party quality), that is why I believe she is a total fraud. Please tell me what she has done for this county, other than decieve it.

Silence equals a guilty conscience, Marian, kind of like a cat trying to cover up it's mess on a marble floor. These people know they've crossed a line. All those Redmondnites and affiliated hangers-on think everyone they crap on will just shut up and crawl away. Sorry, Phil. The rest of us have backbones. These cowards don't like confrontation or having their bluff called.

Anonymous said...

Griffith needs to be heard. The people demand it! I know her and she would never go along with anything immoral. I don't know why she remains silent, but I know she is a good woman!

Anonymous said...

Griffith doesn't need to respond to the blog or Gatton. She is a hard working, resptected, tax payer, pays her bills, and works hard for this county. Therefore, she doesn't owe this blog anything.

Anonymous said...

She may or may not have to respond to this blog but it does not reflect well. A simple "no comment" might at least make her look engaged. She does, however, have to respond to a taxpaying constituent if she gave her word to do so. She certainly owes the citizens of this county some sort of statement on the criminal activity and clear lack of ethics in the sheriff's office. So far, we're not hearing anything. I think the word we're looking for here is hypocrisy. I'm losing respect for her by the minute. In fact, it's pretty much gone. Ken Robertson and Frank Mitchell proved themselves to be fools and Marvin Norman also having nothing to say moved himself into the same category. We have the inmates running the asylum and not one person putting a stop to it and holding these idiots accountable. I'd say the phone bills constitute theft and Tommy Adams ought to be facing some additional charges. Anyone who enabled it and/or knew about it ought to be facing some charges as well. High time we start holding all of these clowns accountable to the people who pay their salaries--us. Oh, yes, and didn't that media mogul Rupert Murdoch get spanked for manipulating the news and have to shut down one of his rags? Flushing that POS paper the R & L down the sewer where it belongs should be simple compared to that. These jackasses have no credibility whatsoever.

Anonymous said...

4:41, Renee, is that you? I'm sure Renee is more than happy to give a statement to Donna Swicegood. Donna and the Record and Landmark are fair and balanced. After Phil reads it and gives his approval, we get all the news that's fit to print.

Anonymous said...

Ken Robertson is a cad. Period. It is not ok in this day and age to make any sort of disparaging remark about anyone's race, religion, disability, etc. He made just that sort of remark about one of my disabilty. It was hurtful, disrespectful, uncalled for, and caused me great distress. Had he made a similar remark about a certain deputy's ethnicity, for example, there would have been hell to pay. This sort of behavior was unacceptable 50 years ago and it's unacceptable now. I demanded an apology and got an email stating he wasn't going to communicate with me anymore unless there was an attorney present. I'm happy to send you that email, Jaime.

Anonymous said...

It's unfortunate that newcomers to our county have to have this as their impression of us. We elect these people and trust them to represent us and have our interests first and foremost and they betray us and engage in behavior that is shameful and reprehensible. One would think that in 2011 we would have moved beyond the bad old days but it would seem not. I am disgusted and ashamed of these people. I do turn out to vote and I am going to encourage others to do so. I will consider long and hard before I vote next time. I certainly hope that the 12% turnout figure I read about is not true. Shame on all of us if it is. We're certainly getting what we deserve if it is.

Interesting remarks by Commissioner Ken Robertson:

"So when people, who don’t know about our budget process, and they don’t understand the requirements of the county say, Well, we’ll go in and cut the fat.’ They need to look and see that the tax rate in this county is about 50% lower than the surrounding counties. You don’t have a fat budget when you’re food intake is about 50% less than your neighbors. We don’t have a lot of discretionary stuff to cut out."

Very interesting Mr. Robertson. Here is a piece of fat for you. What about the Sheriff's Office Athletic league? How much money is it taking from the tax payers? What are the tax payers getting in return? The Sheriff has even bragged on his home page that it is free of charge. The money is coming from somewhere, the tax payers. Get your head out of Redmond's ass Mr. Robertson and do your job. Stop playing politics and make the tough calls. That is why you are being paid.

There are tough times and cuts have to be made..

Anonymous said...

I find it stunning that Mr. Robertson was supposedly in the army. Soldiers are coming home with the same thing I have, TBI, only mine came from a car accident (that was not my fault, by the way, not that it should matter) and are committing suicide in record numbers. His comment caused me so much distress that I became physically ill and had to seek emerency treatment. And he has the nerve to tell me he will no longer accept my calls? His insensitivity and callousness indicates his sheer ignorance and incapacity to hold public office. If he had said it to a woman in uniform returning from Afghanistan, he'd have been publically vilified. I was a public employee for my entire adult life and was taught to where to go for help and I went to him because he was from Mooresville and I had spoken to him last year and I expected him to help. Instead he basically called me the same thing as calling a person of color the "n" word. It's despicable and I will not stand for it. Furthermore, I expected a little more compassion from a woman who is affiliated with a church on a professional basis and I expected her to keep her word. I was taught that the south was a more genteel society. I am the daughter of a southerner. So far, I've been called crazy and a Yankee. I'm so impressed with Southern Hospitality. I will survive if I'm made homeless. The fact that this HOA, which is being run by one of Redmond's employees, is trying to throw a 70 year old widow with no family, on Social Security, out on the street, disgusts me beyond words. None of you know me. None of you know Carol. I wonder just how well you would take it something you cared about was taken from you. My dog is not just a pet but a service dog, and this county has no respect for the rights of the disabled and Chris Royal was going to take the animals regardless. This was a HOA vendetta and I just had it out with the town manager here who wrote me a letter claiming the town had nothing to do with it. Imagine his surprise when I took him Ms Royal's report that states exactly the opposite. No one here can get their damn stories straight. So when the person from some previous comments wants to make a list of bullshit, let me assure you, I have a substantial list of my own. And while we're on the subject of ethics, it's a never-ending source of amazement that a multi-billion dollar media empire is about to be taken down because it paid police for information and a piddling rag like the Record and Landmark isn't in some sort of trouble for letting a reporter accept a paid cell phone from the local sheriff. Before anyone starts saying it isn't the same thing, it's exactly the same thing. It begs the question of objectivity. It certainly raises an awful lot of ethical questions. It's rather like the lottery commissioner's wife winning the Power Ball. It could happen but it just doesn't look right.

Hey, 9:21, here's another one for you. Where is the money coming for Phil and his boys at the animal shelter to kick down the door of a couple of old ladies and take their dogs and cats away and board them at our expense until they have to go to court because some old nosy busybodies, including one with a badge who works for Redmond, have something up their butts? The cat lady already said she was going to sue and it sounds to me like she may have some grounds. You think Kenny is going to open his wallet for that? It's only a matter of time before major shit hits the fan in this county and the taxpayers are on the hook for it. We got obstruction of justice, embezzlement, recovered stolen goods being destroyed by "accident" (and I'm wondering if they didn't end up in someone's private "collection" instead) and other assorted antics. It's only a matter of time before the wrong person pushed around or hurt or worse for the wrong reason or some other innocent party and this county is sued into oblivion. We just keep paying and paying for these little mistakes. Has Dennis Huffstickler filed a wrongful termination suit yet? That's probably coming. The problem with this county is people don't turn out and then they find out too late the price for not giving a shit. Check out Redmond's Face Book Page. It's all mug shots and ass kissers. He's got 5000 friends and this county is 185000 people. Pretty pathetic. That's what 3% of the county? Guess we know whose phone calls Redmond and the commissioners are taking. It's OUR money they're throwing around. I know where I'd start cutting and it would start at Redmond and his enablers. Let's put some competent law enforcement in place.

Statesville isn't growing, it's dying. I don't see much being built or coming in. I wonder who we have to thank for that. I'm not sure Mooresville is doing much better. A few new places here and there but things closing up all over. I don't feel safe going to Walmart here in Statesville, for heaven's sake. It appears to me that the only people making any money here are the politicians and the ones running the county. Statesville is going to seed.

Anonymous said...

Wow, Phil's Face Book page is a real treasure trove.

Phil: "If hard work is the key to success, most people would rather pick the lock." William Gladstone

Tommy Adams: Well spoken and isn't it amazing so many people are like this?

This was back on July 18th and 19th. I nearly spit my coffee all over my keyboard and monitor.

This is wrong on so many levels. First off, they're still communicating. Doesn't look good. They're still friends, also not good, and why the hell does the sheriff have time to put quotes up on a page where there are clearly a lot of criminals being sought and still at large? Does he have that much time on his hands that he can be on FB? I love all the "atta boys." This is the "Lookee here at what I've done, kiss up to old Phil" FB page.

Anonymous said...

Umm, Tommy? Phil didn't speak those words. English statesman, William Gladstone did. And you didn't have to pick the lock, you just waltzed right in and took what you wanted. Looks like we know who has been posting the Redmond is a good man bullshit.

Well, I, for one, find it highly troubling that even on Facebook, our sheriff, is fraternizing with a man on suspension and under indictment.

I also find it troubling that a fine Christian woman like Renee Griffith gives her word to someone and does not keep it. In my book that makes her a liar. It certainly makes her a politician. Kind of against her tea party values, isn't it? I don't blame that person for being put off. I didn't think this was how she did business. I don't care who the person is. If you give your word, you keep it. She didn't, I gather. This reflects badly on the county. Her failure to comment in any arena on the Adams affair makes her appear to be in silent approval of how Redmond is running things. Again, not exactly in keeping with tea party standards. Where is the clarity here?

I am so glad that crime has apparently all been cleaned up in this county so that Phil Redmond has time for a Facebook account and to harrass non-criminals like little old ladies with cats. I'll remember that the next time there are cars going down my road at 3 AM to what my neigbors say is a drug meet up a few miles away at someone's old trailer. Oh, yeah, and the 15 or so illegals that are working over by my brother-in-law's farm. He smells plenty of pot at night. No one even drives by.

Sheriff Redmond has people to keep the Facebook page up for him as an alternative way of allowing people to communicate with the Sheriffs Office. Also, I think that Tommy's comment on that post just shows the kind of quality person he is. Why else would he agree with it? Anything that the Sheriff does seems to be twisted around and used against him. If he rescued an infant from a house fire you asswipes would twist that into a drug sale or an affair before it was over with. get a life and get out of ours.

The Sheriff's Facebook page is just another example of the transparency in the Sheriff's Office. There is nothing to hide or he wouldn't be so open.

Well, lah, dee, freakin, dah, there he is, Deputy Tommy Bullshit Under Indictment. So now he's Mr. Quality too. What's the saying about laying down with dogs, getting up with fleas? The appearance of fraternizing with shady characters like yourself doesn't look good. I somehow doubt old Phil is going to run into a burning house, he's too busy looking up shit in Bartlett's Familiar Quotations to put on his Facebook page. I think people expect that they are paying for a sheriff not some clown sitting at his computer updating his Facebook page and letting his suspended and indicted good old boy thug pal Tommy still kiss his ass on it. I wonder how quality your fellow inmates in stir are going to think you are. I hear Big Moose is getting ready for you, Bubba. He'll explain quality to you. Come trial time old Phil is going to be saying, "Tommy who?"

Anonymous said...

Still not Tommy. Quit smoking the cat litter and maybe you can figure out that there isn't a secret society with Tommy and the Sheriff. There is an entire group of professionals that are running the Sheriffs Office. Your continual rants about perceived injustices will never have any effect because there is nothing for them to have effect on. Iredell County has a fine man in office surrounded by top notch law enforcement officers who would never stoop to the low brow techniques of which they are continually accused. Get a life and roll on back to wherever you slithered here from. That is unless you wore out your welcome there with your insane antics.

Anonymous said...

Oh, LOL. Whatever you say, Tommy, keep smoking that bullshit. Professionals, top-notch? I've seen better cops come out of a clown car in the circus. I'm not slithering anywhere, you're the snake who is going to prison. I live here, I'm registered to vote, and we'll just see who is the professional. Big Moose is getting your lipstick ready, girlfriend. five suspensions in four years? Your mama must be so proud.

Oh, and Jaime, I almost forgot, Animal Control knocked Carol's computer tower onto the floor and it's broken. Who is going to pay for that? We can't afford to replace it. She's been in here trying to fix it for the past hour. They broke plenty on their rampage through the house, a lamp, my reading glasses, etc. Bunch of fine, upstanding professionals. They ran through this house like vandals looting in New Orleans after Katrina. They were laughing and acting like it was funny. Yeah, I'm so impressed with the professionalism. I only wish I'd gotten my cell phone out. They were the ones who were cruel and tormenting. I have no respect whatsoever for those people. NONE.

They broke all of that stuff and you are just now remembering to bring it up? Lady this gets richer as you go. With the stuff you are claiming with the illegal search and property damage you have a major "next at five story". Too bad it's all BULLSHIT. It's okay though. Just keep whining about it on here until you get ready to move on with your life. Wait, you have to get one first. Put that on your to do list.

I don't know who Matt is or what the hell they are talking about. I do know someone at CNN is reading this blog. It does take time to research a story. I'm about to go out and spend some time with Carol, who is doing well, and then I'm going to bed. As for the computer, lamp, etc, I did make a police report immediately. Of course, the cop wasn't any too keen on taking the info. The system down here is about the most obstructionist I've ever seen. The cops don't even know who has juristiction of this subdivison. You hicks and goobers seem to think there is something pretty funny about a state grand jury putting a sworn officer of the law under indictment and you seem to think this is all going to blow over and go unnoticed. Keep calling names and making fun of each other. There are those who are watching and who are going to make you all look the fools that you are. The unfortunate thing is that this tomfoolery will reflect on the decent adult law-abiding citizens of this county. Some of us know how to conduct ourselves like grown-up, keep our hands out of the cookie jar, and not talk dirty on government computers or cell phones to people who aren't our spouses or those who are. I would think adults would know by the time they get into office how to behave with proper ethics but maybe their mommas and daddies didn't teach them that. Just keep digging your holes, boys and girls. It's already too deep to crawl out. You keep acting like Lille kids the voters will send you all to the woodshed and the rest of you on here need to take a time out. It's coming for all of you and it's not going to be pretty.

"I See It Everyday." I am in total agreement with the points you raise. I have been away from my computer for several days. And I meant "little" damned auto-correct on my Blackberry. I would tend to agree with one of the more recent comments as well that this cell phone business might constitute some sort of theft. Adams was certainly using county equipment for his own benefit and since he was calling the sheriff, Redmond had full knowledge of it. The commissioners can try and make excuses all they want but it's still stealing from the county and that is us. He should have to pay his entire bill, not an adjusted one. I'm all for charging him and charging those who allowed it with theft. This is just another prime example of these folks fleecing us and finding other ways to pick our pockets. I promise you a month from now we are going to hear some sad song about something else that there is no money for and here is your prime example. We're all seeing it everyday.

Why isn't the evidence room under surveillance like most of the county buildings? And yes, someone helped remove it.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, I'm done with Randy Marion too. And hopefully whoever I pass this along to. What's in it for them? Who do they buy county cars from? I don't know. Does someone on the blog? Sick and tired of "the CLUB."

Anonymous said...

Maybe we all ought to send Randy Marion a Sharpie too. I know one thing, I won't go there if I break down in front of their place. No more. I wonder if the county gets their cars from him too. I think somebody ought to start a "don't buy Randy Marion" facebook page. Send these bozos a big old message that the CLUB is circling the drain. If somebody does come up with a facebook page put it on here. We'll join. Sick of this bullshit.

My family and I live on Grayland in the Winborne Subdivision and I have been reading this blog for the past week or so. We have kept quiet because there have been retaliatory acts by the HOA Miss Marian and her friend Carol have been talking about. Everything she says is true and then some. Grayland is the biggest street in this HOA and I guess it's okay to write this but I'm going to write this and be done with it.

To begin with, most people here are sick of the stuff that has been going on. Alot of us walk our dogs around the blocks here, including by the pond those ladies live by and they are not the only ones complaining. It is like an open sewer. Those ladies don't cause any trouble and do the best they can. There are 2 Eva Brauns on the board who have made it no secret that those ladies can do nothing right. They don't like the way they have their lawn mowed. They don't like their cars and they just don't like them. I think they are keeping that pond filthy to make it as miserable for them as they can but there are dozens of people who are complaining and I know of quite a few who have called Herman Management, the HOA, the county, the city, and the televison stations. There is an older lady who lives next to it too.

It's gone around the neighborhood that Darren Campbell wants to hear from people who have seen Andrea Taylor use her job to try and rattel people in this subdivision. Well, I'm telling him now. Plenty of people have seen her and the president drive their F U mobiles around on "patrol" only Miss Taylor's is a county car and we are paying for it. It's no compact easy on the gas model either.

We know of at least seven peple who have moved out of here because of the HOA and of 1 family that is going to let their place go to foreclosure to get the hell out of here. The day after independence day everyone got a letter from the HOA telling us the usual excuses. Where should we start? There is going to be no election of officers this year because no one was intersted in running. Not exactly true, but it's a nice excuse because nobody wants that bunch in there anymore. Most people want to do away with the association altogether.

Then there is the pond. There is supposed to be a fountain running to keep the water moving so it doesn't stagnate. The motor is burned out. This is a direct quote and it goes onto say that they are in the process of ordering a new motor. Let me tell you, alot of people here thought that was just HYSTERICAL. They spent a lot of money last summer on that pond. They are supposed to keep it up according to the town. I think it was close to $20 grand. People were bitching long and loud before it got done then. Now it's worse than ever.

The letter went on to piss and moan about Miss Taylor's favorite subject, dog shit. Alot of us are starting to call the HOA newsletters the Dog Shit Tribune. She has a major hang-up about this and has a sign in her yard about scooping. She keeps moving it behind bushes because signs, other than real estate signs, are not allowed. We damn well better pick up after our dogs. This is not healthy. The HOA lawn service is picking up dump trucks full, apparently. Most of us do pick up after our dogs. It's no secret she hates dogs and the HOA lawn service does as little as possible. At the risk of repeating myself, that pond is worse than any missed dog shit is. A good chunk of all of the recent newsletters are dedicated to dog shit.

We get nothing but excuses and passing of the buck from this HOA. But then, I guess Miss Taylor has learned from the best of them. We have a park off of Markham in this subdivision. It's been a dump for at least 4 years. My kids want to bring their soccer friends to the field to play and practice. Well, the queen bitches say no, even though the sign up at the park says that the park is for the residents and their guests.

Oh, and before I forget, we also got a big lecture in the last newsletter (March, but I think we got it in May) about oil leaks from our cars. Everyone from the EPA on down to the town is going to come and get us and fine us. If that's true, the national debt will be paid in no time. Hell, we can't get anyone to make them come out and clean out that f*cking pond. Most of us work, some of us work 2 jobs, do we really have time for this bullshit? Since King Redmond has cleaned up all the crime in this county and Miss Taylor has a clear desire to whip this neighborhood into her vision, perhaps he could make her dream come true and elimate her job and just borrow a forensic person from Charlotte on the rare occasion one is needed. Then she can spend all her time making sure we all tow the line. By the way, Redmond, it's no secret, she has no respect for you. She's got a big mouth with people she thinks keeps her little secrets. Thought you'd like to know.

Most people in this subdivision are pissed. No, they are seething mad. The big boss bitches do as they damn please and allow a certain set circle do the same. The rest of us have to cowtow. Herman Management, the power behind the throne, does not answer the phone, return calls or emails, except to send out nasty-grams telling us we better get into compliance. That shithole of a park isn't in compliance. There are playground safety laws in this country or is this HOA not subject to US law? The same dog shit tribune that told us about our oil leaks told us we better not let our tree roots get out of control. The tree roots in that "park" (ghetto) are overrunning the paths and are downright dangerous. If we let our lawns even start to look like that, hell, we'd be foreclosed on. We got to cowtow, scrape and bow to this bunch of scam artists and wtf do we get in return? I'm not so sure the part about the condo in Vegas is so far out of line. Somebody is doing something with our money and it's not going to keep up the stuff we have here. We'd be way better off without this HOA. You better get your girl in line, Redmond, the cameras are going to be coming sooner or later. It's piling up and shit rolls downhill, bub.

Anonymous said...

Nice try cat lady, pretending to have someone on your side. There is nobody else. There won't be any cameras rolling and Redmond will remain in office doing a fine job for as many years as he chooses to do so.

11:44, you da man. Sell tickets, we'll all pay to watch.

Does anyone know the potential sentence Adams is facing? Hope it's a good long one. Maybe he will start singing like a little bird about steam engines and all the other bullshit he knows about in return for a lighter sentence.

6:31 said...

10:37 I apparently don't need anyone sticking up for me. Redmond is still Sheriff and all is good. You couple of keep inventing stuff to bitch about. I am understanding of the fact that you don't have a life.

11:44 If you had anything NEAR what you claim to have then channel nine or three would just LOVE to talk to you. IF you had anything. They don't report on fabricated bullshit or personal problems like your minnow pond. Digging ditches? I don't think so. I haven't been out of the air conditioning in two weeks.

5:25 there will be no sentence for Tommy unless an innocent man is found guilty. Just a couple of people trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill because they don't like our Sheriff who KEEPS GETTING VOTED BACK IN. Bunch of smucks.

Who gives a flip about the HOA. There used to be a sorry ass Yankee named Yankee Bob that blogged on here. He said that he was taking his ass back to Nu Yark. Guess he must have done what he said. You Yankees were the ones that brought those damn HOA's here, so take them and your asses back home.

Anonymous said...

Hey, Guy-Who-Can't-Spell-Schmuck, do tell how Tommy is innocent. I'd like to hear who planted the guns or how having the guns in his possession was justified. Seriously, elaborate on that. "Everyone else was doing it" doesn't count.

Anonymous said...

10:16, I think that guy with the spelling problem is using that term as an anti-Semetic slur. That's the kind of folks he thinks comes from up north. 9:16 is demonstrating that Fine Southern Tradition of Blaming it All on the Yankees. What "You Yankees" overlooks is that NC is the state with the most HOA problems of all of them. HOA's started in the states where people went to retire, that is south of the Mason-Dixon Line, you know, those Rebel states, the ones that got their asses kicked by the Yankees. Piss off, Gomer.

I'm with you, 10:16, and I'll go you one better, I'll bet if "Everyone else was doing it" there will be more grand jury sessions to come. I can't wait. Someone is going to roll over on that steam engine, maybe pretty soon.

10:16, let's review. Tommy is hired off the street with an existing criminal record. Then he gets his training paid for and then gets promoted to detective sgt while the ink on his diploma or whatever cracker jack piece of paper they give out in these training academies and he's racking up suspensions like some people rack up credit card charges. Then he takes a couple of .357 Rugers and tries to bullshit his way around it. Not popguns, but .357's that had been used in the course of a crime and he was carrying one around in his vehicle. For his personal use. What was he expecting, Bambi's mother with a M-16? And he thinks he's innocent? I'm just wondering what else has walked out of that evidence room, crime scenes, and who knows what else? The SBI needs to turn everyone in King Redmond's little palace inside out and turn the place upside down. They ought to be hooking up Phillip to a lie detector too. Schmucks.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, incomplete sentence. While the ink was still wet on his phony baloney certificate. Tommy and Phillip think the citizens of Iredell County are schmucks and they are smart as hell. This isn't going away. Not by a long damn shot. No pun intended.

Anonymous said...

Bet Tommy is gonna love that cavity search when they process him. I'd buy a ticket for that too. Bend over and grab your ankles, goober.

Anonymous said...

I would have to agree with the statement that everyone else is doing it is hardly an acceptable excuse. If others in the sheriff's office are engaged in questionable actions, it certainly taints everything, now doesn't it? It then taints those they associate with and on and on. I certainly have real and sincere doubts that 2 men as close as Adams and Redmond supposedly are, that Redmond wouldn't have known his boy had those guns. Smoke and fire and all that.

Anonymous said...

Seems to me there are those here who still want to uphold the pre-1865 mindset of keeping their boots on people's necks. That's what all this "yankee" crap is about. They don't like people sticking up for themselves.

Anonymous said...

Smuck, smuck, smuck, that's the sound that Big Moose is going to make when he sees Tommy coming down the cell block. Yuppers, he's going to make Tommy his new missus. Smuck, smuck, smuck. I hear banjoes...

Anonymous said...

I don't know Tommy, but in a way I feel sorry for him. He's like the kid whose parents let him eat candy all day then gets a filling and lecture from the dentist. Sounds like Redmond allowed it, so he must have thought it was okay.

Well, once again, I see the level of discourse is a reflection of the apparent educational level of Redmond's staff.

6:15, I don't see how you can have any sympathy for someone who came onto the job with a criminal history. He then returns the guns as if that makes it ok. It doesn't. I tend to agree with the person making the point that these old boys probably shot targets or something along those lines with those very guns. I remain unconvinced that Redmond is an innocent party in all this. There has been far too many incidents in his office and far too many shenanigans by people in his employ. I agree that Redmond clearly allows this sort of thing and they have probably had some real good chuckles over it. I also agree with the fact that they think they are putting one over on the rest of us, we're all the schmucks, and they are all so damn smart. The candy store is about to close up.
