Bus bullies

WSOC-TV aired a story last night about a recent bullying incident on a Mooresville High School bus. A video of the incident has been circulating on Facebook, a popular social networking site. Click here for WSOC-TV's story.

Yep, was just facebooking about this story. Gotta disagree with the father's attitude, sorry, but that boy has every right to defend himself. He shouldn't have to sit there and take that just because it's a girl who's doing the bullying. The way I see it, if a girl crosses that line and becomes physically aggressive, then she forfeits her "girl" card. If she wants to act like a street fighter, then she's fair game, she risks getting punched, sorry if that's not PC. ANY PERSON who is being physically aggressive is fair game, she had absolutely no business putting her hands on him like that.

I find it extremely ironic that the technologically advanced district doesn't have the policy manual available online. There used to be a policy which would have classified this as a 10 day suspension because there were multiple aggressors. I know another student who was assaulted on a bus by 2-3 students and the AP actually wanted to suspend the victim because he spit his drink at them during the assault.

It amazes me that you people who are all about doing the right thing have nothing to say about this story...and that the bigger story about a bully did not even make the news!

In many ways the use of the computer in this case was good since it exposed this horrible behavior.

There is a darker side to such open communications. Many students have also been exchanging explicit photos. They are too young to consider how quickly photos go viral. Parents, please check with your children! Computers, phones...know what they're doing.
